izzybiz Thu 04-Sep-08 09:57:40

Morning guys, sent Dd off for her first day at school today' she was so happy and looked very cute in her uniform

I need some advice from you ladies, all day yesterday, I had very little movement from Bob, he had hiccups at one point and did shift a couple of times, but usually he is like an acrobat!
Felt nothing in the night and only a couple of shifts this morning. I'm wondering if he's resting as something may start soon?

But I just don't feel happy with it, iykwim?
Do I phone labour ward and go for a trace? Even just to put my mind at ease?

TIA.xx

(have copied this message on to new thread incase noone reads the other one!)

Izzy
- If you are not happy then def phone the midwife and she will monitor you, it's not worth worrying yourself over at this stage, although yesterday mine had a really quiet day comapared to normal but then went absolutely ape-shit all night, woke me up and kept me awake, which has never happened before. Have you been eating the same as usual, as I have found I've been eating less coming up to my EDD, and I think this effects the baby too.

Mumiyumi - Still no twinges or any sign that I might go in to labour. Don't worry about asking, I have about 8 people that have been asking every day for the last week and I find it highly amusing that they are still so dedicated after getting the same response for so long! They are all going to fall off their perch when I finally say YES, TWINGE TWINGE TWINGE! grin

lollipopmother Thu 04-Sep-08 10:10:06

IZZY - Also, it might be worth keeping a kick-diary, I started doing this a week or so ago because I didn't think mine was moving much but as soon as I started to keep a record it was obvious that actually she was - you only need to record 10 movements in 12 hours. It's easiest to keep a record if you're sitting down for a prolonged time, whenever I'm up and about I know I miss some movements.

eandz Thu 04-Sep-08 10:10:50

so i'm wondering at what point do i have to stop wearing crazy colored eyeliner if i plan on looking more like a dignified mommy and less like a 24 yr old grad student with too much time on her hands.

husband says that i should cut down on the crazy colors and tone down the sparkles.

foxytocin Thu 04-Sep-08 10:21:04

<<waves>> at everyone.

I have a babyhawk mei tai for sale in Forsale if anyone is interested. Have a look here

40 quid incl postage.

sunflower78 Thu 04-Sep-08 10:22:40

thanks for the link lollipop - guess you still haven't had enough pineapple yet! DP came home with two last night, but was too sick to have it... will start later (still haven't had breaskfast cos feel sick again)

apologies if someone has already read my post in old thread, but has anyone had a long period of show and on-off contractions before actually starting labour? though this is my second, first time had no show, and just started straight away with 7-10 mins regular contractions...

izzi - myfirst got quiter towards the end, but worth checking with MW anyway - this one got me worried last night, but just got up, did a few stretches, went back to bed and she started swirling around again, but see what MW says

Debs75 Thu 04-Sep-08 10:24:29

Hi all this is the final countdown thread
*19 days to go* and very excited hope Meglet is fine and everyone else who is nearly there. Taking DD to school now so gonna come back for a nice long sleep, didn't get any last night so shattered.

MunkiMom Thu 04-Sep-08 10:25:16

eandz
never!! you keep wearing what ya want, how ya want!
i'm 32, a graduate as well (although ages ago), and i still can't stop adding colour to my bangs after bleaching it....it's what i've always done...and i really am not bothered about what others think.
((i think its healthy to hang on to some of your old self after baby arrives!))

however, finding the time and energy to keep it up is another story.

lollyheart Thu 04-Sep-08 10:26:42

Hi Ladies, I have been lurking on this thread for a while and I've finally decided to come and say hello smile

I'm due on Sunday and this will be my second boy. I'm very excited about finally meeting my little man.

My first born died last year after a 7 month battle against liver disease (he was 15 months old) so this has been a very strange time for dh and I.

However, onwards and upwards, and I look forward to joining you all in your questions to each other: what is this? when is this baby going to arrive? Am I in labour? Will I ever go into labour? Can I ever eat enough pineapple? Can my stomach actually stretch anymore? smile

Morning girls! Good luck to becaroo and welcome to sunflower78! It does sound like you are in pre-labour so its all good, your gearing up ready for the proper stuff! wink

Do braxton hicks get stronger and more frequent then turn into actual contractions or do they stay irregular?

MelT76 Thu 04-Sep-08 10:46:23

grin Iliketomoveitmoveit and welcome

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt Thu 04-Sep-08 10:47:19

Sunflower78 - In my mw's words 'in subsequent pg's your body is more likely to fanny around a bit before labour starts.'

First pg I went straight into labour with no show, bh's or anything, but this pg I have had bh every night and was woken with contractions every 10 mins for an hour the other night. No sign of lo though!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt Thu 04-Sep-08 10:48:25

Thanks Mel

biglips Thu 04-Sep-08 11:01:47

welcome sunflower78 and iliketomoveitmoveit (sorry to hear about your first born).

lollipopmother - im gonna keep a kick-diary too to see how many kicks are there now since ive had ECV.

sunflower78 Thu 04-Sep-08 11:05:00

Iliketomoveitmoveit - thanks, my MW was convinced I was going to have baby 3 wks ago, so feeling very disappointed... especially as yesterday morning, after 2 hrs of reg contractions, I looked at the crib and thought there would have been a baby in it by today... and welcome too!

ellideb - thanks, hope this is it, cos if it goes on much longer, I'll beg for epidural as soon as I get into hospital I'll be so exhausted, as the pain is getting stronger, just not regular (really wanted to avoid it this time, well, I hoped I would have had a much shorter labour...)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt Thu 04-Sep-08 11:07:14

Sunflower - you don't know how long this is going to go on for, so rest and eat (snacks if you can't face a meal). Good luck smile
