Hello everyone and to the new thread!

Midwife app today went really well, heard nice strong heartbeat so feel good today. I had a home visit which was nice, due to having DS around as well this time round apparently - I had to go into the Drs last pregnancy - no more out of date magazines for me!

LenniEd and flf, thanks for the advice btw. My friend is really close so couldn't bear to drift apart. I will just have to give her space and let her decide when she's ready I guess.

fourlittlefeet Mon 21-Jul-08 21:15:00

Thanks grin. Grumps have gone away for a bit and am feeling rather cheery this evening!

Oh my god. I am going to have another baby! Think this is the trimester where what we have done really sinks in. The next one is all about. Oh my god. its huge and it has to come out.... grin.

Have managed to break my pram so now have a dilemma. Do I get a twin one now, and look like an idiot, or get another single. hmm.

fymandbean Mon 21-Jul-08 22:05:28

hello all

tried on the IO jeans today - can't even get my leg in the 4's (size 14) sad but the next 12's fit fine grin

fymandbean Mon 21-Jul-08 22:06:28

VERY GOOD NAME FOR THE GROUPgrin

fourlittlefeet you were talking about friendship changes. i think i am very lucky. DH and mine's close group of friends are very excited in the prospect of us having children that you'd think they were all this baby's parents. it's hard for me to steer clear of talking about it because they keep changing the subject back to baby stuff. it's great though. we are closer than family and have known it other for many years now. all of our family's are in Ontario and we are in BC. it's like living in London and your family lives on the far side of Russia. people from outside the group often comment on how they can tell there is certainly a dynamic between us and although everyone is welcome within our midst, they know they are still slightly outside. it's not bad, we are just very close. only one of the couples is likely to have children but they won't be starting for a couple of years.

i think for the last couple of nights i have felt him shifting around. it starts about 4am and feels like gas but there is never any gas. it goes on till i get and go pee, than starts again about 15 min after. then i exercise, shower and eat and all calms down. anyone else feeling fluttering? i'm 15 weeks.

MrsMagpie Tue 22-Jul-08 08:15:11

Morning All. I've been up since 3 am because my nose is all bunged up and yet running like a tap. Grrrr.

chefswife I'm 16+1 and have been feeling things for about 2 weeks. Getting very cross with people who have had children telling me that 'It's much too early, It's just wind.' Grrrrr again.

It must be tough having family so far away but how great you have such a close group of friends. Having said that if there was some way of sending the outlaws to the far reachs of Russia I'd be very tempted.

Gosh I am a grumpy wotsit today!

tinkisagracefulshamu Tue 22-Jul-08 08:48:36

morning

gr8 title

think i felt movement last nite i am 15wks thurs

LooseyC Tue 22-Jul-08 09:21:02

I'm so jealous! I want to feel some movements too... midwife said to expect them from about 15 weeks 2nd time round (was about 21-22w 1st time) so have a fornight to go probably. Mrsmagpie only you know what you are feeling! Ignore them smile

MsSparkle Tue 22-Jul-08 09:46:31

Morning all,

I keep thinking i can feel movement too. I am 16+4 weeks.

I like the thread title by the waysmile

MissHairspray Tue 22-Jul-08 10:11:29

flf I totally know what you mean about it suddenly seeming real (and even a bit scary) - I made the mistake of reading the 'month nine' chapter of my week by week pregnancy guide yesterday and totally freaked when found out that the baby will grow to around 48 cm before it is born. 48cm! that's almost half a meter! Where the hell will it all go and how is it going to come out?! <takes lots of deep breaths>

On the plus side i've started to get 'your blooming' type comments from people, which started pretty much as soon as I rediscovered my Benefit Moonbeam highlighter so I can certainly recommend that if you want to fake that pg clow.

MissHairspray Tue 22-Jul-08 10:13:14

sorry, that should be glow

hopenotsickthistime Tue 22-Jul-08 10:19:48

Hello all. Have been out of touch for ages but thought I'd pop back in. I was convinced on Saturday morning that I was feeling 'flutters' but nothing since so who knows? If you think you've felt something, then that's all that matters.

Loving the new thread title esp as feel like heffalump after 2 people saying 'You're starting to look pregnant now'. Cause I was so sick first time round I didn't get a bump until past the 20 week mark. Now at 16 weeks, it's starting to show. Can't work out if that is good thing or not (at least now look pregnant instead of just fat!)

Love the title - could really relate to it! Any one else having to restrain themelves from going crazy buying clothes to fit their growing bump?

Yes I can vouch for the ,miracle that is Benefit Moonbeam Highlighter - whenever I wear it people comment that I am glowing! So am wearing it every day - it lasts ages.

Periwink Tue 22-Jul-08 10:59:39

Can anyone please recommend a reflexologist in North London?

mel2005 Tue 22-Jul-08 11:00:44

if you are looking for maternity clothes, next and blooming marvellous had some in the sale. the next maternity jeans which are fab were £10 a pair. my blooming marvellous order came today they have royce breastfeeding bras for £5 at the moment, they are the style i have been buying for all my pregnancies and they are fab.

Periwink Tue 22-Jul-08 11:15:26

Mel2005 - thanks, will take a look at the sites. Cannot believe I am having to buy new maternity bras only bought new ones 2 months ago and now they do not fit!!!!

fymandbean Tue 22-Jul-08 11:36:14

Hi all - my Nuchal results have finally come through 1:1600 <phew>

tinkisagracefulshamu Tue 22-Jul-08 11:38:51

thats great fym the results take ages to come through dont they

Chocsolot Tue 22-Jul-08 11:44:22

Hi everyone, been a bit quite sorry because I have been dead busy at work so felt a bit guilty logging on, also been on my cousins hen do (not recommended.... can't do that sort of thing at the moment, felt like an old woman and I ask you is it really neccessary to book a meal for 9pm, i was nearly knawing my hand off!) felt so ill the next day and I left straight from the restaurant! sad

Am loving the new thread name.

Really pleased for those of you who can feel your little ones moving, I can't decide, I just feel bloated and tired and windy and grumpy this week, one of my team brought in a comedy article from the times yesterday about why it is Ok for pregnant women to be like bitches, it was hilarious, he should be warned! wink

*Miss Hairspray* i too was petrified about the length thing and then my husband told me he was 60cm when he was born and the longest baby in the hospital that year! My God! shock I was only 30cm so I am hoping it takes after me. I am so huge already though it does scare me! If one more person says i can't believe you are only just over 15 weeks, you look quite far gone I swear I will swing for them (4 people have commented that in the last 4 days!) what is it with this pregnancy and my weight! The sonographer was bad enough!

Hope everyone is feeling OK..... I do agree it really begins to hit you at the moment.... which is so exciting and a little scary to be honest.

Chocsolot Tue 22-Jul-08 11:45:16

fymandbean great news on the scans... that took a while, congrats though, must be a huge relief smile

tinkisagracefulshamu Tue 22-Jul-08 11:51:14

i get the same choco i look mass and 15 wks on thurs

MrsMagpie Tue 22-Jul-08 11:52:17

A collegue told me that i was really 'getting that pregnant shape' and was i certain it was just the one!!! Then proceed to tell me about her aerobics instructor who is 5 months and she has the tiniest little bump. Took a long look at me and said 'but then she is super fit'. Cow.
