Due July 2008 - the thread where we realise it IS July, and we mustn't be so busy talking we forget to get round to birthing!

Well, I hope a lot more of us can manage to have our babies in THIS thread, even if we will probably talk our way through it well before the end of the month!

Mummywannabe Tue 08-Jul-08 01:04:40

Sorry Polyxane missed you new thread.

Congratulations Kaz!

Having contractions every 10mins but after the other night don't wanna get hopes up but they really are hurting. Seem to be a bit sporadic though some closer together than others.

Sent DH back to bed in case its another false alarm

Polyxene Tue 08-Jul-08 01:13:12

Not your fault Mummywannabe - I was still writing the post with the link in when you posted!

Ooh, good luck with that! And keep us posted if you can! (I'll be up for a bit longer, though then will try to get some sleep - I seem to sleep better if I'm really truly tired out, because otherwise the SPD just keeps me awake and cross with it!)

Polyxene Tue 08-Jul-08 01:15:24

I'll repeat my names dilemma from the last thread, because I'd really like to get people's input:

Re names and initials in particular - our current favourite begins with W, and as I mentioned our surname begins with C: do you think it'll be an issue him being a WC since there will be two other middle initials in between?

Mummywannabe Tue 08-Jul-08 01:17:01

Gonna try and doze off myself, isn't that what they say - get rest in the early stages. Yeah right, too excited*, terrified*,in pain* - * delete as applicable.

Polyxene Tue 08-Jul-08 02:21:23

Hope you're managing to sleep/rest now Mummywannabe! I'm off to try to get some sleep myself now - night night all.

Mummywannabe Tue 08-Jul-08 06:34:46

angry still here! Had contractions all night till about 1/2 hour ago - every 8-10 mins. Sorry if TMI but just been to the toilet and think that was my bout of diarrhoea. Am shattered, mangaged to doze in between but literally woke every 10 mins. Gonna try to rouse DH to go to work shortly but not sure he will get up!

AggiePanther Tue 08-Jul-08 06:54:25

Ooh mummywannabe ...sounds hopeful!! Particuarly if they have been waking you grin. Keep us informed.

Thanks for the new thread Polyxene - I don't think there's anything wrong with WC as long as you have middle initials too... he would rarely use just the WC on its own. Just make sure his middle names aren't say, andrew, neil shock blush wink sorry

Divvy Tue 08-Jul-08 07:43:46

Sweetkitty Sorry that was ment to read hard work, not hard word grin

Thankyou again.

isaidno Tue 08-Jul-08 07:55:44

great news Kaz - hope you're home soon.
Mummywannabe - sounds like you're next!

SK - when you update the list can you just change my EDD - you put Jun instead of July!

sweetkitty Tue 08-Jul-08 08:12:12

Thank you for starting the new thread polyxene grin we do talk a lot don't we!

No I was just asking if everyones pain had gone once they had delivered. Also don't see why WXXC would be a problem either, which names you thinking of?

Mummywannabee - fingers and everything crossed, well not legs!

isaidno - oops I did see that and meant to fix it, will bring the list across

Hopefully we should have a few more babies today too grin

Oh nothing here had some interesting pains downstairs last night but nothing sad starting to get a bit miffed off completely fed up, DP on holiday but we can't really go anywhere as I can't walk it's frustrating waiting for this LO to arrive!

Poly - I do not think WC is really an issue. It would not stop me. And young children probably do not know what a WCis. I only recently found out!

Tongue tied - my NCT group friend had a little girl with this and she had her snipped. She did it ASAP and privately. It was not that expensive and meant she was able to breast feed. If she had waited for hospital it would have taken a few more weeks. Seeing her this afternoon so will ask more then if it helps.

Congrats Kaz!

Must go, just had a quick read and now off to consultant appointment!

DonutMum Tue 08-Jul-08 08:31:24

Morning all. Just about to pop back to bed but wanted to catch up on any overnight news. Good labour vibes to mummywanabee!

Polyxene, I really like the name William but our surname also begins with a C so I avoided. Think that's more beacause of me than what I thought others might think.

Right baby, only one more day to go til daddy's home, then you can come out. MW is due to give me a sweep on due date (this Friday) if baby not here so Thursday will be the perfect day, I reckon.

Hope you all have fab days, spd, aches and pains, sore nips permitting.

Mummywannabe Tue 08-Jul-08 08:36:37

Thanks ladies. All quiet here, few niggles but no proper contractions! Managed to pursuade (sp?) DH to go to work, my mum is gonna pop over later. Called midwife on DH's demand and she said 'oh you could stop and start like that over a few days' I tried my hardest not to scream 'are you mad!'. Of course i know she is right but didn't wanna hear it.

Poly - don't think WC is an issue either, and to be honest children always find a way to tease each other.

Sweetkitty - sorry your feeling down must be so hard with other little ones to worry about. I felt very sorry for myself this morning and had a good cry, but feel brighter now (although completely knackered)

JacobsPrincess Tue 08-Jul-08 08:51:38

Well, for the first time in, ooh, 9 months, I have got out of bed on the right side today! So no moaning from me this morning!
Still having twinges and rubbing clary sage oil everywhere. Might eat some more pineapple, but I think it's what gave me wind.
Mum's taking me and DS to the supermarket today (hoping for waters breaking there and get free shopping!!) and then we might go cherry picking. We were given a cherry tree rental for Christmas, so we've had a picnic under the tree in full blossom and now get to pick and eat all the fruit! Yum!
And yes, I agree with you others who are fielding "any news yet?" phone calls - they can get very annoying. Last time we unplugged the phone line!

gillythekid Tue 08-Jul-08 08:51:56

Well done Kaz!!! Hope the BF situation improves.
Oh SK I feel for you with your LO's to look after. This waiting game is so frustrating and SPD makes it so much worse. I had a bad night with it last night, thought I was in labour at 9 but pains stopped, pelvic/hip pain was so bad that I hardly slept. really hoping there's no lasting legacy after birth.
Sitting here chomping on pineapple drinking RL tea, I'm sure some of my neighbours have seen me rubbing my nipples, must think I'm a right perv.
Good luck Disney and come on the rest of these babas!!!

gillythekid Tue 08-Jul-08 08:54:40

Can I just say that I told no one my due date as I couldn't stand the thought of all those calls! I just said mid July and if anyone does call/text/email I'll tell them I had the baby weeks ago but sold it on ebay cos it was too noisy, that'll learn em.

catec Tue 08-Jul-08 08:59:18

Poly, my Dad was meant to be a WC, but they ended up giving him another first name for the initials thing, but he has always been known by his middle name (William). Think it was probably way more of an issue back then though, don't know that kids these days would even know what a WC was.
Good luck Mummywannabe and congrats all of those who have had babies since I last posted!

pigleychez Tue 08-Jul-08 09:02:03

Morning all- ANOTHER new thread!

Good luck to Disney today

Mummywanabe- Hopefully not too much longer for you.

Gilly- My DH mentioned something like that the other day. Seems there was a baby for sale on EBAY. Social Services took it off the site... not sure if it was a joke or for real shock

Im begining to get concerned that ive had no twinges/niggles/BH's.
Anyone else the same??

Libra1975 Tue 08-Jul-08 09:02:50

Congratulations Kaz, sending positive vibes so he is out of hospital and with you as soon as possible.

Poly - I personally wouldn't want WC either (see my L.E.W issue) but everyone on here and my DH thinks I'm crazy so I wouldn't listen to me on this one.

LL - sorry don't know anything about tongue-ties however I would have thought doing something sooner rather than later would be better. You are doing a great job however frustrating it must feel at the moment.

Mummywannabe - hope something happens for you soon

I woke up with what felt like a cross between period pains and constipation pains last night at about 3am. Did some hypno breathing for about 30 minutes along with some visulisation of my cervix opening like a rose and then fell back to sleep!! My friends would wet themselves if they heard me with this happy, clappy stuff.
I used to get really bad period pains - are labour pains anything like that? (ok I know labour pains are worse but I meant in that general vicinity, I have no idea if the pain is suppose to be all over the uterus, at the bottom of the uterus, in the back. i.e. I have no idea about labour at all)

right off to try and book a leg wax and pedicure.

Libra1975 Tue 08-Jul-08 09:12:45

Aghh Kaz I'm so sorry, blaming pregnancy brain, but I am sending HER positive vibes so she is out of hospital and with you as soon as possible. (gah I wish this place had edit function!)

Heffagooday Tue 08-Jul-08 09:33:43

Kaz - congratulations!

Poly - I wouldn't worry too much about initials. WC doesn't seem to be used too much any more either.

I'm keeping a tally of all the calls 'just wanted to find out when the due date was'. Gah. Although if I end up being induced soon then I should miss the worst of them! We told everyone baby was due at the end of July originally to try and fend them off.

I have been desperately trying everything to kickstart labour now, since MW told me that it would be better if it started spontaneously rather than needing an induction. I figured lots of sex etc might at least help make things ready? Or am I living in cloud cuckoo land?

SK - sorry you're feeling down, hope something happens for you soon.

Rumpel and Disney - thinking of you!

Heffagooday Tue 08-Jul-08 09:36:39

Oh, about initials - I was going to say that the only person I know who was teased for initials was my DH. His name is Luke Walker (which is bad enough anyway, gets commented on all the time) and his middle name begins with a B so he's LBW (leg before wicket, some random cricketing term which is apparently hilarious). His middle name is fairly comical as well - so his parents basically managed to break every single one of the 'naming rules' that we've read about. And he's fine

EEC Tue 08-Jul-08 09:43:49

Libra1975 - both time my labour pains started like period pains at the bottom of the uterus - just stronger. I think everyone is different though some people feel it in their backs.

Kaz - Thrilled to hear about lovely Keziah. Hope you can bring her home soon.

Good luck mummywannabe - I'm sure this is it!

Off to see mw now. (39 +2). Please be in right position...
