Thanks for the link! smile

Counting down to the 20 week scan on Monday. Still haven't told my students. I'm starting to show, quite significantly, so I'm looking forward to seeing which student will be the first to ask.

Looking forward to moving too. Only been trying to move into this house since august! Ahh!! Everything (pretty much) is in boxes now.

Really want to start work on the nursery but can't until we're in. We know what theme we're doing though, nice and neutral as we won't be finding out if it's a boy or girl. Not until I pop!

jld128 Tue 28-Feb-17 17:27:28

new link smile 20weeks today smile 20week scan next friday 10th literally counting the hours! been in with midwife today and listened to a nice strong heartbeat 😍

Holz657 Tue 28-Feb-17 17:31:58

20 week scan on the 13th. Super exciting!! 19 weeks on Friday. Starting to feel little movements at nighttime especially. Hope everyone is well xx

thumbsupforthesixbillion Tue 28-Feb-17 17:42:45

Thanks Not, just checking in!

DrewOB0 Tue 28-Feb-17 17:47:12

Holz you seem to be pretty much exactly on same calendar than me. Exciting!

rhodes2015 Tue 28-Feb-17 18:12:11

Thanks Not!
Just checking in too x

DaisyQueen Tue 28-Feb-17 18:30:41

Hi there. Just checking in 22+2 now. Thoroughly enjoying pregnancy at the minute. I don't really want it to end as we are planning on having no more after this one. The baby is very active and he seems to be having fun with my bladder these last few days, I was expecting quite a long time before the 5 minute interval trips to the toilet!

CatRash Tue 28-Feb-17 18:49:11

JLD - my 20 week scan is the 10th too. I'll be 20+1 then. I've got an at home doppler and love checking in with baby - the last time I listened it it was so strong I had to turn down the volume as it was making the speaker rattle!!

wildone81 Tue 28-Feb-17 19:54:01

Another one just checking in... 21 weeks today!

TinklingTheIvories Tue 28-Feb-17 20:06:50

DH was just playing some rage against the machines. Bump decided to give me a kick! We continued to play it, and it was having a little wriggle around. It's either a dancer or a musician grin

Twixes Tue 28-Feb-17 20:15:20

Placemarking my bump grin

Lallypopstick Tue 28-Feb-17 20:23:36

Evening all, my snuzpod arrived today so I'm looking forward to building that!

Notyetthere Tue 28-Feb-17 20:47:54

Lally that is exciting. We bought ours on eBay and I was very excited.

jld128 Tue 28-Feb-17 20:58:39

Catrash not long to go now although i'm counting minutes haha i'd thought about a home doppler but i think i'd make my even more paranoid mind even worse!

LuciBee231015 Tue 28-Feb-17 21:08:14

Thanks for the new thread Not!

Can tell it's pay day today! I've bought a TENS machine, changing mat, muslins and a cot bed mattress! That's it until next pay day!

Carpet being laid in the baby's room on Saturday and then we can put the furniture together and get it in there. Can't wait! Then I can put the bits that I've been collecting in there.

My next big thing is an angel care movement, sound and video monitor.

My friends are all chipping in and getting me an izzywotnot Moses basket, grey and white. Can't wait to get that!

Notyetthere Wed 01-Mar-17 04:07:40

I can't sleep. On Saturday sil came to visit with dnephew who wasn't feeling well but sil was adamant that he must have been teething. Turns out on Monday he was diagnosed with chicken pox. I called the midwife yesterday and they tested my blood for infectious diseases and found that I wasn't immune. I have never had chicken pox before so no antibodies. So now I have to go to the nearest town hospital about 15 miles away to pick up a vial of antibodies (immunoglobulin ) then take it to my gp surgery to have it administered. If I have caught cp then it should hopefully be less severe. I have now also been switched from a straight forward pregnancy to a consultancy led one with extra scans now planned to carefully monitor brain/limb growth. It is all shit really. Not even had the baby yet and I have already exposed her to danger. I feel like a rubbish mum.

bluebird1235 Wed 01-Mar-17 06:08:28

Not that sounds rubbish but there's no way you could've known and you've clearly done everything right since finding out. flowers

natienka Wed 01-Mar-17 07:12:53

Oh Not totally feel for you ... But it looks like you're doing everything you can to ensure the baby's safety x I had a scare as colleague's child had slapped cheek and a little late i got some red spots on my face sad turned out to be a false alarm so i hope it's the same for you.

Lallypopstick Wed 01-Mar-17 07:25:09

Not hopefully it's all ok. It's good that they're being super cautious though. Keep us posted on how you and the little one are doing.

Spindelina Wed 01-Mar-17 07:29:44

Not, you haven't exposed her to danger - your SIL has. Does she know how serious this has become for you?

Hopefully it'll all just be a precaution and all will be well - better to be consultant led and for it to all be a fuss over nothing than the other way round.

DrewOB0 Wed 01-Mar-17 07:33:22

Thinking of you Not flowers it's definitely not your fault.

Mawita Wed 01-Mar-17 08:03:53

Not sounds like a nightmare! But fingers crossed you havent caught it. You are not a rubbish mum there is no way sil or you could have known. Chicken pox is doing the rounds so best to check with all mum's before seeing them. My cousins little one had it and I only realised a day before seeing them. So have postponed family visits for a few weeks. Praying all will be well for you Not.

In other news my 20 week scan is today.

natienka Wed 01-Mar-17 08:20:39

I also agree that it's better to be consultant led than worry, that's for sure! Despite everything going smoothly in this pregnancy (and my worry they will treat it as 'normal' pregnancy and miss signs of distress again which only showed up after 20w) I was reassured I'll continue to be under consultant care... so more scans and opportunities to see the bubba too, which is always welcome..

At the end of thread #3 someone said 'I wish there was a window to the little one'. Well, not everyone may agree with this but I went for a private scan when I was 17w5 at Window to the Womb. NOTE: this is NOT a diagnostic / anomaly scan and CANNOT be used instead of a hospital scan, but it was done by trained specialists in a lovely environment and reassured me when I was feeling that it's just too long until I next see my baby. I know Emma's diary now offers 20% off there. I was thinking of going around 32-34 weeks for a 4D scan and video, but my consultant appointments continue that will probably be too much.

When I was first pregnant I also had private scans, but they were with doctors / gynaecologists so much more expensive, but also you get what you pay for - proper medical analysis and assessment etc. So depending what you need, that's also an option - I used it before I was moved to consultant care, and actually it was only those private scans that noted anomalies, so..

Picked up our buggy yesterday as found an amazing deal on eBay - also really looking forward to the NCT sale on 18th next to my house... anyone else an NCT member?
