Shiny new thread.
Link to the old one here
Can I join please! I'm 5+6 and EDD IS 26th July. This is my second DC but there will be a 10 year gap! It all feels new again and I don't remember a thing.
All seems well so far. Achy boobs some days and a little queasy and tired at times but generally well.
I don't have my booking appointment u til after Xmas when I'll be 10 weeks. I'm hoping this won't delay the first scan too much!
I haven't told my DC1 yet. Does anyone else have an older child? How and when did you tell them/plan to?
Bloop please ignore the other one! My phone seemed to post twice yesterday. I have asked mumsnet to remove it.
Found you! Hope everyone is feeling okay today.
Hooray new shiny thread.
How is everyone?
Anyone suffered blurry vision?? Woke up with it this morning then it seemed to pass after a few hours.
I'm 7 weeks now and the fatigue seems to have cranked up, I had to go back to bed at 11am for half an hour as I couldn't keep my eyes open - luckily have the day off.
I'm finding eating quite strange - I've not suffered any nausea or sickness so far - a little bit of random gagging (always nice) and completely gone off eggs - but I also don't fancy much. Mainly want to eat fruit, noodles and veg and rye toast so could be a lot worse.
I also now feel like I'm putting on weight which feels way too early! I tried on my usual jeans in a shop yesterday and had a bit of a panic as I couldn't get them done up! Hoping it's bloat although I don't feel that bloated.
Hope everyone else it getting on OK.
Had my booking in appointment today. I'm now officially in the system - eek.
Have I mentioned how much I love cathedral city mini cheeses? They are keeping me sane when I can barely eat anything right now.
wherestherumgone you might want to get checked out re blurred vision in case your blood pressure is a bit off.
I've lost 8.5kg since falling pregnant as I've had all the sickness.
Hey thanks Bloop - I did have my blood pressure taken on Friday at my booking appointment and she said was all normal but maybe I will give my midwife a call this afternoon. Was very odd, not had anything like it before.
Wow 8.5kg, poor you that's a lot of sickness!
Congratulations Katie! You are due about the same time as me (July 25th give or take.... I have short variable cycles..... So can't be sure)...
My BFP was a complete shock.... Tiny miracle (and further if this sticks...) Drs appointment tommorow....
Most kids are excited by the idea of a sibling.... If a bit surprised at first.... Is DC1 a boy or a girl?
I was still checking the first thread
All I've eaten today are cheese straws!
I haven't told my dc yet not until I have my scan at 12 weeks. My eldest won't care but my youngest will go mad, esp if it's a girl!
OmG! My stoopid brain is all over the place... I have been lurking here (but an active member in the over 40 thread).... I just barged into your conversation without introducing myself! In error (how rude!)
Anyway. I am here now
Beam: 42 and discovered last Friday I am preg (6/40 ish)with a surprise miracle...... Still in shock... My first....
Edd 25/7/16 (ish
Been lurking because a) I still don't believe it despite sticks and infuriatingly fluctuating symptoms b) at worryingly high risk of m/c
I have been totally away with gators since Friday lunchtime when I did test (driving had gone to pot too!)
Eh up ladies. Hope we're all well.
I've reached three days without throwing up, feels ace! I'm not including the sick in my mouth I did yesterday though 😷
Am off to work for the night now, packed up with pasta bake, banana, orange, yoghurt, cheese string and a bottle of lucozade to keep me going and stave off the 4am nausea wave! I'm working the next three nights and then no more night shifts!
Welcome beam keep away from the gators!
I got a positive test last Wednesday. I have PCOS so couldn't believe my eyes. I am terrified but excited. It will be DC2, DC1 is almost 6 years old. I am worried about such a large age gap. I had dreadful PND last time so I am so scared I will get ill again.
I used an app that puts my EDD at July 30th 2017.
I've not seen my GP or made an appointment with a midwife yet. I don't think I've even fully processed the news yet. It definitely doesn't feel real.
I feel more exhausted than usual and I've been having such crazy, vivid dreams. The other night I even acted one out and ended up waking up just as I was hitting my OH. Oops In my dream he had been a nasty, old nurse who kept waking me up and trying to put me in the bin.
Also, I'm obese, with a BMI of 31 (down from 43) and I'm worried about the effect it might have on this pregnancy. I'm also scared about gaining weight again and having my body change so much again when I was just getting used to how it is now.
Sorry for such a long post. I've no one to talk to about it all and I've just been keeping all these stressful thoughts to myself so it feels good to get them out.
Hi! Just checking in. Welcome newbies, all fingers and toes crossed for sticky beans.

Oooh new thread!
Drew - I hear you!!! I've been shuffling around like a 90 year old for the past three days!!
I had my doctor's appointment today which has made it feel more real!! Got my pregnancy pack, number for a midwife and free prescription for the excema which sprung up on my hands. They also booked me in for a thyroid blood test as I've been concerned about it for years (just never mentioned it to a doctor before).
Made it feel a bit more real!
Feeling very positive about everything today!
So so sorry Miami thinking of you!
Chunder I'm totally with you on the crazy weird vivid dreams, my OH has woken me up a couple of times bc he was worried about me. Way to go with the weightloss, that's fantastic! You have an added reason to be super healthy now so I'm sure you'll keep on doing great. Just turn the focus to living healthily rather than weight loss.
Everyone who hasn't told people - don't you think this time of year (extra get togethers etc) is an annoying time to keep this kind of secret? So many people keep giving me tight hello and goodbye hugs and I want to yelp at the boob compression!!
Yes re: the boob thing.... Any little thing some days.... Though have noticed a pattern of it being the days I am wearing my looser fitting older bras that I am most sore.... This means
A) I can stop panicking that boobs no longer sore some days = what the heck is going on
B) lingerie shopping ahoy!
Hi bloop! waves look at me out of the geriatric thread and being all brave!
