Wel done MUser.... just marking my spot.

sittinghippo Mon 25-Oct-10 19:53:37

Thanks for link to new thread, congratulations everyone who's had scans, its interesting to see how many people will find out sex and how many will keep it a surprise, It will be funny to find out eventually if there were any mistakes!!

Keep well everyone xx

EvaLongoria Mon 25-Oct-10 20:01:13

Hi Everyone, was just looking for thread and saw that a new thread has started already. I have not been on here for ages since just before my 12 week scan.

Firstly congratulations to all who had their scans and all went well. I read a little while ago but did not have time to post about a few who lost their little ones. I am very sorry to hear that.

My main reason for also staying away initially was because I became very paranoid. I had all these really weird dreams about the baby and then would come on here and read someone lost their baby. Also a few of my friends had lost their 2nd as well. I had to just pull myself together again.

I had a very clear and good 12 week scan and it was confirmed that baby is definitely due 18th March as I thought. We have our 20 week scan on Tuesday, 2nd Nov. We have decided not to find out the sex again, same like we did with DD. Deep down would love to know only so that I can get rid some of DD's stuff if it turns out to be a boy. Will have to be patient again. Also I am so much beigger than what I was before.

Its my DD's 3rd birthday on Thursday and still cant believe how quickly the time flies.

All my best to everyone else. I will try and keep updated this time.

Moving house, so haven't had a chance to check in for a while.

No major news here. I have my 20-week scan next Monday. Thought I felt some movement about two weeks ago, but nothing since then, so I must have been mistaken. Thanks sarahscot for mentioning that you were 22 weeks before you felt any movement with pg1. That's good to know because I've been getting a little worried. And even though I haven't been moving heavy boxes as we pack and move house, I have been doing a lot and have been tired, but that can't cause the baby any harm, can it? I'm eating pretty well and sleeping when I can ...

Really hoping all will go well with the scan. Can't wait to find out if it's a girl or a boy. I don't know how those of you who decide to wait to find out do it. Not knowing is really starting to get to me!

niamh29 Mon 25-Oct-10 21:49:24

Wow, a shiny new thread! Welcome to old and new!

Hope everyone is feeling well and hopefully all the 20 weeks scans will put to rest any fears that people might be having, although from my own experience I know that my fears didn't go away till I was holding a healthy baby in my arms!

For all the thirsty girls I was like that last time, drank about 3 litres every day and wee'd maybe 2-3 times in the day, every time I gave a sample they asked if I was dehydrated but I literally couldn't drink any more water, thank god I'm not like that this time, normal 1.5-2 litres and normal toilet trips too : )

pushmepullyou Mon 25-Oct-10 22:12:38

Just marking my place. Pleased to see good scans for all today smile.

I don't know how people don't find out either - I couldn't not know anything that I could know iyswim! I have a lot of pink things to get rid of now though!

Jupiter118 Mon 25-Oct-10 22:21:32

Also marking my place. Great to hear good scan news!!

I am also thirsty all of the time - hoping not sinister, but booked in for GD testing as father has type 2 - tis on 16th Dec - merry christmas!

Think I might have piles - yuck! Sorry if TMI - didn't have them last time - any tips? Have GP appt for Thursday.

Jx

niamh29 Mon 25-Oct-10 22:32:23

Uugghh piles are horrible, I only seems to suffer from them once I've had the baby and it seems to be cause I always seem to get constipated after giving birth so the best advice I can give is watch your diet and eat lots of fibre and lots of water, avoid getting constipated cause that makes the situation much worse.

Woah......way TMI there, but you did ask!

Jupiter118 Mon 25-Oct-10 22:37:58

Thanks Niamh - luckily am fairly fixated on fruit at the mo, especially satsumas - more brown fibre and water obviously needed though.

Do remember being quite scared of going to the loo after DS1 also!

Blooming in pregnancy - not me!

nice new thread!

StrangewaysHereICome Tue 26-Oct-10 12:42:51

Hello everyone - lovely new thread grin.

I am feeling quite chirpy at the moment despite having a stinking cold and the miserable weather! It's nice to be spending time with both DD's who are behaving jolly well at the moment wink We have been doing nice girly things like shopping, playing games and having fun smile. We are also going away for a long weekend break which I am looking forward to.

I booked my flu jab today as I am paranoid about getting it. I had proper flu when I was a student and felt so bad I couldn't function for 2 weeks. I can't risk that being pg and having two children to look after. It's not until 27th November though which is a bit frustrating.

As for piles, I have been a sufferer for year sad and the best advice I can offer is not to get constipated, don't strain or loiter on the toilet and eat lots of fibre. Anusol is the best ointment I have used and the suppositories really help. After the birth of dd1 I had a pile the size of the rock of gibraltar which was so awful I couldn't sit down blush. In the end steroid cream helped. The MW was genuinely very shocked by the size of it shock. With dd2 I didn't suffer and gave birth on all fours which I am convinced helped.

Oooh listen to me going on about piles! Just offering my experiences.

Take care all x

JoJoB77 Tue 26-Oct-10 12:47:43

Afternoon ladies

Hope you are all well and congrats on the recent scans. Mine isn't until 11th November and cannot wait! We don't want to find out the sex, well DH would if I wanted to but I want the surprise.

Forgot to mention before, Group B Strep has been found in my water but the GP wasn't concerned and advised me that they will test again at 36 weeks as it may or may not be present then.

I've googled it and surprisingly enough I haven't scared myself at all - I'm just glad it's been found and is treatable.

Anyone else experienced this?

me23 Tue 26-Oct-10 12:59:51

Hey everyone, marking my spot here also. My scan isn't until 22 nov I'll be 21+5, I just want to know that all is well with baby.
DP and I have decided to find out the sex if possible, we were going to keep it a suprise but we just can't wait! I've had 2 dreams where it is a girl and this morning dd told me she dreamt last night it was a boy.

19 weeks tomorrow feeling some flutters but no proper kicks yet dp really wants to feel the baby kick.

me23 Tue 26-Oct-10 13:00:46

whoops scan is actually 15th not 22 honestly my brain has left the building confused

Purplefan Tue 26-Oct-10 14:54:44

Hi all,

Just marking my place on new thread. Good to hear news of scan experiences! smile

I am feeling lots of movement from my little girl - I think she is particularly wriggly at the moment!!
Also my boobs seemed to have tripled in size overnight!! shock

jeffily Tue 26-Oct-10 19:15:47

Hello all,
Marking my place on the new thread, but also need to have a whinge...

Suddenly thought this morn that didn't have form/letter for scan today, so rang MW to check it was all ok. Got msg back- scan was actually yesterday, and yes, I should have had a letter which would have confirmed that. Feel v. annoyed as I had to chase them up on the scan date even as had not been informed of one (I think the MW didn't book it as it was not looking rosy for the baby at that point, but that is only my theory!) and she definitely told me the 26th when she finally did get back to me about a date for it. Anyway, not the end of the world as she has managed to change it to tomorrow at 9.40am- but it means that DH can't come as he is working. Work that he re-arranged to tomorrow from today so he could come. Feel so disappointed for him, and annoyed that I had psyched myself up for it and now will have to go without him by my side. Grrrrr.

Anyway, sorry to moan and fly, DH is now wanting laptop to check his kit for tomorrow. Hope all are well and happy... Hopefully will be back with good news tomorrow!

jammiedodger2 Tue 26-Oct-10 19:51:59

Hi Ladies
Aw Jeffily thats really rubbish.
My scan is on the 2nd, can't wait. We are not going to find out the sex, we didn't with dd and ds and since we have one of each we don't have a particular yen for a pink or blue.
Am enjoying the look on peoples face when i answer 'a kitten' in answer to the inevitable are you hoping for a girl or boy grin
Mood seems to be a bit lighter so I'm hoping it was just hormones. I am feeling quite tired also. I have 2 weeks and 1 day's leave left which I am saving until march so I can stretch out my ML a bit, but actually wondering if i'm going to be able to get to the BH (and day's leave I have already booked)at christmas. We are generally advised to take one weeks leave every 3 months as my job can be quite emotionally tiring.hmm
Have had a little go at the caterpillars masquerading as eyebrows on my face- that hurts! but they look a bit better.
The wriggler is living up to his name, feels a bit like he's bouncing my cervix at the mo!
Take care of yourselves in the chilly weather
jx

Larty74 Tue 26-Oct-10 20:25:30

Hello everyone, marking my spot and catching up. good to hear everyones news on scans and even the not-so glamorous issues like piles, etc. smile (fruit n fibre seems to have sorted me out!) It's so nice to have a place to come and know that others know what you're going through!

Take care everyone, am looking forward to coming back home on Thursday.

bollandbear Tue 26-Oct-10 20:44:04

hello!

can I be added to the list. due 5/3

jeffily that is rubbish. almost happened to me. i have had to chase up everything and keep falling between the cracks between the hospital and the gp. last time everything happened like clockwork but i have changed gp so i think that is the problem

piles!

as well as eating fibre make sure you are drinking enough water and fibogel is great (is a little bit like wallpaper paste unless you down it immediately. remember you can't take anything with a regular laxitive as it can start contractions.

having a second boy we just had to ask as they got the scan wrong for our first son so his birth was a really funny shock - anyone els had this or hard of this?

bb

Niknan Tue 26-Oct-10 22:03:55

Hi JoJoB77

Just wanted to say that Group B Strep has been found in me as well so will have to be swabbed again at 36 weeks. At least its been picked up as its not done as a standard procedure here in the UK. I had the test in my first pregnancy as MW believed everyone should be tested but was all clear then. I suppose we wait to see what they find at 36 weeks.

Good luck to all of those with scans this week

Jupiter118 Tue 26-Oct-10 22:20:35

Jeffily - that is rubbish! Good luck for tomorrow now.

Also thank you for all tips on the piles. Pregnancy and birth - glorious.

Yeah 2 days off work coming up - hurrah - no more lawyers until Friday. No offence to anyone that is one - I love them really, but will enjoy the peace and quiet of being at home/doing other stuff.

Going to a nice health club/spa tomorrow - having a pedicure and also need to deal with bikini line before I go - to veet/nair or not that is the question?? I am sure I did v occasionally when expecting DS.

Honeymoonmummy Tue 26-Oct-10 23:39:36

Hi all, can I join the piles club? I've been constipated since I became PG with DD1, never got back to normal, and much worse now that I'm PG again. I've been on regulan and senna tablets, doc has just also prescribed me Dioctyl (docusate sodium), he said they were harmless and lots of PG women take them, anyone know if this is true? I'm off to search the MN archives to check this out...

Am off for a week today and we went to Birmingham last weekend to watch In the night garden live - my DD's face (nearly 2) was an absolute picture. She loves Macca Pacca!

I had strep B in first PG too, it may mean you may need antibiotics drip during labour and if so they probably won't let you use the pool, that's my experience anyway...
