I have spent the last couple of weeks trying to sort out ds2s bedtime.
Did better last night having had advice from MN. so anyway tonight I get ds2 bathed and ready for bed, read him a story and was about to take him to brush his teeth and then to bed when DP came home and brought him CHOCOLATE of course he gave it to him then played with him, regardless of how many times I said please stop it is time for him to settle.

It is now 11.10pm and dp is lovely and warm in bed asleep while I am up still with ds2 who is so hyped up and past sleeping that he won't settle. DP has to leave at 6.15 for work and I have to be up at 6 tomake sure ds1 is up and ready to leave for school.....

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Gah, My DH has done this.... till those fleas in his ears really got to him.

it's SOOO annoying. Oh well, tomorrow will be brutal, you can see that one coming already.. but thankfully it is towards the back end of the week....

Put DP on breakfast duty this weekend as pennance... You are having lie-inS!

How did your DS get on with going on the bus all by himself? ha ha, how did YOU get on with dealing with that all day?

Never mind breakfast duty this weekend, put ds2 in bed with your husband now! He will never take you seriously if you protect him from the consequences of his actions.

My DH has done this on numerous occassions.

Second what jybay said, let HIM deal with DS and he wont do it again!

GH, He managed fine there and back...I knew he would although on the way home he felt intimidated by 4 boys from another school. I happened to be standing at the door as he rounded the corner and the look of relief on his face was so sweet. He sped up and almost knocked me over to get in. I stood giving them the evil eye knowing look us mummys can lol.

JyBay, if he didn't have to be up at 5.15 i would but with him being a bus driver he has to be fully alert.

He is crap ok at dealing with ds2 as long as I am there to watch keep him company.

now if it were ds1.........he is brilliant with him.

You happened to be standing at the door? titters, you don't fool me for a second, you were waiting for him from about 1pm weren't you? (LOL, I'd be exactly the same...)

Oh yes the death stare.... I'm good at those... Can silence, and if I'm really trying, force grown men to start to babble at 30ft!! Haha!

I'm glad he's OK, it'll get easier..

GH honestlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy i just happened to be standing there... I did not time the journey the other day so i knew how long it took, I did not wait there for 15 minutes freezing my nipples off because there was traffic and the buses were slow.

OK, for public safety it is probably best to let your DH sleep so I now second groundhogs idea about a lie-in at the weekend.

Of course not dearLady, it was just a happy coincidence!

Jybay, if it was his day off I would be kickin his ass out of bed trust me. But I am getting on his bus tomorrow with ds2 so he needs to be on top form or i shall have to complain to the garage him when he finishes lol.

DS2 is now laying on the sofa and will drop off shortly, to sleep that is not off the sofa!

oh my god, OH does that too.

no matter how many times i say, bedtime is calm time, i still have to go up and take over. its the only way to get ds to bed.

also hate the sweets thing aswell, have a bit of common sense man. of course he wont eat dinner if you gave him chocolate buttons 45 minutes ago.

Why do men do it are they really that clueless??

The worst thing is when I do get him settled and dp then goes into bed DS2 will climb into bed with him so what does DP do??? PLAY!

repeat

"bedtime is calmtime"
"bedtime is calmtime"

if he persists, just walk away and leave him to deal with it. i know its hard when you have to listen to it and know he should be in bed. could you go in the kitchen and turn the radio on? or put a coat on and take a half hour walk?

DS2 is now asleep on the sofa, I have learnt the art of saying the word I rarely said to ds1.....NO OMG fainting now!!!

He was asking for bix - crisps and noose - juice I said Not tonight and he laid down and in seconds was out like a light.

Now just me to unwind then i can go to bed.

You wait until Saturday when DP will be wanting an early night as he has a fishing competition on Sunday...I can be an evil fooker...now where did i put those cymbals!!
