No YANBU at all. I was on a train into london once and it was stopped due to someone killing themselves on the line ahead. I was horrified by attitudes of my fellow travellers, every one of them complaining about being late.

Hmmm, difficult IMO because the difference is that you knew why the delays and blocks were in place. The commuters on the bus didn't.

Can anyone honestly say that they have never whinged about being late or having to walk because of some hold up?

How are we to know if the incident is an accident or just plain traffic?

The people on the bus weren't to know that someone had lost her life.

Zisfor - I have also been int he same situation as you. The thing is again, as I just said, unless it is announced no one on the train knows why there is a delay.

I have been delayed due to deaths and due to signal failures on the trains. How am I to know which one is causing a particular delay if we are not told anything??

Vengeful - I agree if you don't know the reason for the delay but it was announced on that occassion. We were all told that the train was stopped due to a death on the line. It's so sad that people are more worried about being a bit late rather than that someone has lost their loved one.

Zisfor - In that case - awful behaviour from the commuters!!

Dilemma - Oh, if it was obvious it was serious accident and the bus passengers knew that then you were definitely NOT BU.

I can't understand people's reactions like that when it is clear something awful has happened to someone

I agree with vengeful. The woman didn't know that someone had been killed. Roads are cordoned off all the time, lights could have been out, stolen car dumped by joyriders, dodgy vehicle clocking police and chucking something from window, burst water main, gas leak, there are a million reasons.

It is very sad about the old lady but I think you were BU to snap at someone who was having a general whinge and had no way of knowing what had actually happened.
