AIBU?

To think dh has just embarrassed himself and me?

I ordered us a takeout for supper. I got a mixed kebab, a bottle of diet coke and an extra pitta bread and sauce.

With delivery it came to £10.30. The portion sizes weren't great but the meat was nice and well cooked.

Dh was on the phone immediately demanding to know why it had cost so much and complaining. He had the poor guy on the phone for over ten minutes. He is still muntering on about it now. And apparently I am 'a fucking mug' for paying the driver at the door. I should have sent him away.

The food was nice and I would order again, but I daren't now. I feel so embarassed.

Chargrilled large lamb kebabs are £4.20 for the large one here and they are huge. They all come with a lot of salad.

The large veggie ones are only £3.00.

I'm in the south-east.

I do think it was expensive for what you got.

I think he has no right to be swearing at you though - who the fuck opens fast food at the door to check if the portion is big enough

Just don't buy there again.

And sort out the way he speaks to you as he's a twat.

yanbu, what are you suppsed to do, check it at the door with the driver waiting. i would tell him if its bothered him that much he can go to the door next time and make himself look like a greedy twat lol

Chicken or lamb kebabs here are normally around a fiver. Mixed ones about £6. So to me the pricing didn't seem that bad. Probably a bit expensive considering the portion size, but I don't believe it warranted phoning to complain.

Well I don't believe it warranted phoning to complain but its his choice isn't it?

You should be more concerned about the disrespectful way he spoke to you not some random fast food joint (who could have hung up on him if he wanted to).

Sorry that kind of came out wrong. I didn't mean that he had ANY right to be an obnoxious twat just cos it was a bit pricey compared to where I am.

Your DH sounds like a prize arse. Next time just order for yourself and point him in the direction of the kitchen if he's hungry.

And I'm probably doing take away restaurants a disservice but it might be an idea to call and 'apologise' on behalf of the tosser if you do want to order from there again. I've heard terrible stories about what they - and restaurants - sometimes do to the food of people who have pissed them off.

YABU. Kebabs are vile and only ever acceptable if you are so pissed you can't speak properly and only then if bought from a salmonella infested van outside a club at 4am.

Sound's like my ex( he was controlling and abusive) not saying yours is but that's how mine started.

What makes him think the driver would have gone away without being paid? They have a menu, if you don't want to pay then don't order. Someone was in court recently for refusing to pay for takeaway. Does he think that people are going to work their arses off in kitchens all night then send the food out on approval? It isn't even that expensive with delivery.

That doesn't sound too pricey to me. Mixed kebabs are usually expensive, plus they will charge you a couple of quid for the bottle of coke too. Sounds about right.

DH is just being a tightarse!!

If it fed both of you, then just over a tenner isn't bad.

Hwr, I would have skewered dh if he had spoken to me like that.
