Its driving me absolutely bonkers. I know I should be greatful that people care etc, but UGH. One friend is texting me EVERY DAY to ask if I'm having contractions. Surely people realise that I will actually let them know when he arrives??

Admittedly I might just be very very hormonal right now, but am only 38+3, and all I keep thinking is that I could possibly have three weeks plus of this!!

I tried not replying - she text our mutural friends who then bombared me with messages of, "OMG are you in labour?!" and "Hope he arrives quickly!" etc

Resend text every time she asks, or at least daily.

No she hasn't. Don't get me wrong, I love her to pieces. Its just bugging me! She's text me just now saying "Remember - if you're having twinges, go to Boots; free stuff!! Hehe!!" She means well, but with her asking me every day and everyone else texting every few days... Its enough to make me want to disconnect every form of technology and burry my head in a pillow for the next however many weeks!!!

Never ever tell people your true due date. Lie and tell them you have another 4 weeks to go.

Sorry, too late for you ErikaMae. I would tempted to go with the "oh, had the baby a week ago, did I forget to tell you" line.

Or text back, "leave me alone or I will go on Birth Strike"

I had this from MIL and I went 10 days over by which time they were calling twice shown no interest through the rest of the pg though which really bugged me.

I ended up hiding in the bathroom when I was in full blown labor so dp could tell her at her usual 9pm call that there was no sign yet . I did that because I felt hounded and just wanted some peace and quiet.

I made the mistake of texting all my friends the moment I went into labour - with no idea that it would take 36 blardy hours to actually arrive. I had constant, hourly texts for the next 2 days "ooh, have you had it yet?", "text me AS SOON as you have", "what's taking so long?" etc etc.
This time round I'm keeping shtum until the baby's here

This time I have added 2 weeks on to delivery date. Ha!

Last time DHs gramp called every day near the end to ask, eventually on day 4 overdue, I grabbed the phone off him.... 'Clearly not Ralph, seeing as you have rung us on the home phone!'

I know how you feel, this drove me mental. I had my mum, MIL, two close friends, DPs brother & my sister texting me daily (mostly more than once) for a month!

I was 15 days overdue when DS was born & thanks to g&a sending me a bit loopy when MIL rang after 5 hours in labour I screamed "I'm working on it ok? Now F*CK OFF!"
