AIBU?

To expect 2 brand name tests to give the same results......

Sorry I know this is not an AIBU question but have tried posting it elsewhere on the site and got no replies.
Firstly, Again Im sorry if Im turning into an annoying woman
I got a clearblue pink tipped test and long story short I got a positive however it took a few mins to develop so worried it could have been an evapbut it was thick and solid shaped (not wavy) and blue - the same colour as the test line-just very faint. How do I know if it is a BFP or an evap line? So this morning I bought a First Response (was advised to try pink dye test) and tested and it was a BFN, however I had been a little impatient and tested as soon as I bought it which was only an hour and a half after my first wee of the day. Feeling really disappointed but the line on my clearblue from yesterday (Dont worry I've thrown it away now) is still blue and thick so I called Clearblue and they said to treat that as a positive (as the + line is the same colour and thickness as the - line). But have still heard bad things about clearblue. any advice or opinions???

I find the cheapy poundland tests more reliable than the branded ones.

You know you're pregnant right?

A positive is a positive, but a negative may be wrong.

Congratulations

It's all down to how much HCG in the urine - the longer between pees the more will accumulate, and how sensitive the test strips are (some detect lower levels than others).

Congratulations again!

what humanbones said... a positive result cannot be wrong so congrats

I think you are pregnant! False negatives can happen but false positives are rare...

diddl our doc doesnt do pregnancy testing. They told me off once. I knew I was pg and rang up and said I needed an appointment "I think I'm pregnant" and she snapped "well you need to buy a test and find out then, we don't do testing" and I had to explain that I had done that so needed an appt to find out what to do next.

Are you testing very early? I did a test last week and gor a BFN and 2 days later got my BFP. Sounds like you got the positive result test agin tomorrow and hopefully the BFP will appear right away, good luck!

I have had a week like this as well.
I have 2 dc's in my iving room and a first response has never given me a positive for either of them.
Bought them last week on BOGOF in Boots still negative. SO was my Clearblue digital.

Bought poundland cheapies and boots own brand got a couple of barely there positives that I was sure I was convincing myself was there.

So out again bought more poundland and boots own digital and got a positive on the digital and a better positive. on the poundland ones.

So ditch the expensive ones buy some cheap ones.
Does sound like a BFP though
congratulations

lol, I made an appt with my gp after I took the test (can't recall which brand - likely cheap as I was trying to make the point that I most definitely was NOT pg).

I asked him if they wanted to do another to make sure.

He told me no point because it's virtually impossible to get a false positive.

Then he scolded me about natal vitamins. (he asked if I was taking folic acid - my response: 'well, I am NOW')

i had a similar experience at the docs, i went in v. excited that i had had a positive result doc was not so excited told me off for coming in for no reason.. 'you feel fine don't you?' 'you're taking folic acid aren't you?' 'well then wait for your 12 week midwife app' i said that i thought i had better tell them, he said i should have just informed the midwives, and no, i didn't need him to do a test as i already had a positive at home.... i felt a bit deflated... (it was my first)

Oh hanaboo I'm sure they always say to let your doc know. Round here it's the GP that alerts the midwives etc.

Well I am belatedly excited to hear your happy news anyway
