I send a photo card of the kids as I'm terrible at sending photo's and keeping in touch with relatives etc.

A lot of people no longer send cards.

I've had emails over the years from people wishing us a Happy Christmas stating they will donate the money saved to charity.

Others (on here)just don't bother sending anymore, but still receive

Do people really donate to a charity as they say when they're not sending cards or are they just lazy gits?

JANEITEPatrickNormanMcHennesy Sun 25-Oct-09 16:34:35

I don't send cards. And yes, I do donate to charity instead and I organise a Christmas charity collection at work as well.

Sorry, forgive me JANEITE. blush

I never send cards and absolutely hate recieving them. I'm a bit ocd I think about them.

Oh yes, you are being bah humbug, in a major way!!!

I love getting cards. I stick them along the edges of the shelves in our alcoves, and they add to the Christmassy feel of the house.

Plus, it is an occasion to share news from people you don't see very often.

(CAT me your address and I'll send you a card just to make you feel guilty ... grin

Does anyone include a yearly update letter thing with the cards? What do you think about them?

Hey slimeon! Great minds think alike!

YANBU, not much, anyway.

I'm going to send some because I have elderly aunties who like it, and because my friends who live far away like to get post I on.

y want to send them to people whose joy in receiving them will outweigh the fuss of sending them, but once you're doing a few cards a couple more don't add much more fuss.

I have not sent cards for the last 4 years. No one cares.. But still the buggers keep sending them to me.

BecauseImWorthIt Sun 25-Oct-09 16:54:25

No - I don't do the round robin thing. Mainly because I'm always so late writing my cards I never have time to write a bloody thing!

YANBU... I cannot stand sending them, fiddling around having to find addresses, fiddling round having to remember to hand-deliver them, having them hanging around in my bag for ages... and then I find the ones I receive to be a bloody nuisance round the house, not to mention a waste of paper. Bah humbug.

TheBolter Sun 25-Oct-09 17:01:25

And don't get me started on round robins, I find them so fake and a poor excuse to stay in touch with people that the rest of the year you have no interest in contacting!

GibbonWithAnAppleBobbingBibOn Sun 25-Oct-09 17:03:49

I do it every year and each year I think the same as you shiney, do people really care despite the fact we haven't seen each other in years, nor even spoken in that time, that they receive my oh so comical penguin getting tripped up by a snowman Christmas card?

I think not.
