To slap this woman

Probably over reacting I know but it is driving me insane.
I have three kids aged 5,2 and 8 months.
At drop off and pick up time there is another mum in the playground who makes me want to either a) slap her or b) run home and move house so I dont have to go there ever again.

just a quick list of things that make me angry:

My raincover broke for my pushchair (big double) she started on at me about how i shouldnt bring my children out in the rain. What was i supposed to do leave my daughter at school all night?

my son was standing on the foot rest of the pushchair because he was tired and she started whispering to another mum who told me she was telling her about how she would never let her child stand on there and how I was too soft!
my cat scratched my baby (yes i know shouldnt have happened) and she started accusing me of not caring for them properly!
My son goes in the pushchair and apparently this is not "acceptable" at his age. My daughter was wearing a coat and she started asking if i knew her hands must be freezing and could I get another one (implying could i afford one!)

ok reading back I am being unreasonable but can I slap her anyway?please?

It's unacceptable for a 2 year old to be in a pushchair??

She sounds frickin' loopy.

good I have a tendancy to ignore things but this womam has really got to me - especially with the cat scratch thing. I was meant to be taking my little one to the HV to be weighed tomorrow but now Im rethinking it in case she takes the same view as this woman!ARGH!

Don's slap her yet, just let her children grow older and her own experience will shut her up.

Does she work pt as a lollipop lady?

She sounds very much like the one at dd's school.

YANBU

She sounds like a right cow! A nosey one at that!

I'd call her on it.

TBH she sounds like a sad old witch with nothing better to do than comment on other ppl.

Slapsies!

Actually, I love locket's suggestion. Awesome. Honestly hun, its pathetic. I'd totally cut my losses tomorrow and take all her suggestions really seriously like you're taking notes and then just when she's done being super Nanny, you can narrate back to her; "right, got it children eat at the table, dogs eat at the floor... thanks for that, I think I've got it. Must dash - got to bang the turkey twizzlers in the oven."

I'd just say 'mind your own' and leave it at that. Or 'a few people have reported to me that you have been bitching about me. Perhaps you could take your nose out of my business and lodge it elsewhere'.

Straight to the point, not to nasty, gets her told.

i'd be lining up behind you to slap her too. maybe you could come out with something along the lines of
I'm sorry, Talking to you seems as appealing as playing leapfrog with unicorns.

daft bitch needs a slap.

benjysmum · 21/10/2009 21:04

yanbu, ask her why she feels the need to mind your business. then say in a loud voice to your chilren "stay away from that strange lady".
