Let's just say fat, brown, old and small and be donw with it.

As you were.

Tortington Wed 21-Oct-09 00:17:30

no understanding brunette - as in what's wrong with it?

i like petite - cos i a a midget. well not technically but you get the picture

BiteOfFun Wed 21-Oct-09 00:22:37

"Small"? Don't you mean "short-arsed"?"

I am worried you are losing your touch now...

UnquietDad Wed 21-Oct-09 00:26:58

Curvy isn't fat, though. Jordin Sparks, Keisha Buchanan, Amanda Redman and Susan Sarandon are curvy, i.e. have nice curves and are not scrawny, but they're not "fat".

Tortington Wed 21-Oct-09 01:00:30

sarandon is scrawny

bernadetteoflourdes Wed 21-Oct-09 01:34:47

Speaking as a a MILF. Grrrr, so yes YABU

But petite isn´t just small, is it?

BonsoirAnna Wed 21-Oct-09 09:09:55

Agree, petite isn't small/short, it means that someone has a tiny frame. Typically someone whose healthy BMI is about 17!

MaryAmericanSmooth Wed 21-Oct-09 09:13:04

'feminine' drives me bats

Olifin Wed 21-Oct-09 09:13:56

What is petite? I think I'm petite, people say so, and it doesn't bother me.

As for brunette...I guess its just quicker/easier to say 'So and so is a brunette/blonde' than to say 'she has brown/blonde hair'.

But I think 'curvy' does sometimes get used as a euphemism for 'a little bit fatter than average'.

It's a very minor niggle though, isn't it?

StealthPolarBear Wed 21-Oct-09 09:14:09

yes, agree, when curvy is used to describe anyone who isnt a celebrity it means fat! I'm curvy

TrillianSlasher Wed 21-Oct-09 09:14:57

Brunette? Means 'has brown hair' equivalent to blonde. You wouldn't say someone was yellow, would you?

I'd object to these words being used as euphemisms, thy have specific meanings.

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy Wed 21-Oct-09 09:17:23

celeb curvy= size 12
non-celeb curvy=fat
bubbly=really bloody fat
cuddly=morbidly obese

NorbertDentressangle Wed 21-Oct-09 09:18:17

Petite is one of those words that is always used to describe people like Lulu and, for that reason alone, I dislike it

BonsoirAnna Wed 21-Oct-09 09:18:46

voluptuous?

StealthPolarBear Wed 21-Oct-09 09:19:09

and jordan, apparently shes petite

TrillianSlasher Wed 21-Oct-09 09:24:17

Maybe she would be if you deflated her, she's only 5'2.

Lizzylou Wed 21-Oct-09 09:24:48

Voluptuous means big tits, Anna

UnquietDad Wed 21-Oct-09 09:26:05

If "feminine" is annoying, so is "masculine".

UnquietDad Wed 21-Oct-09 09:26:46

And "beefcake" (ugh)

CJCregg Wed 21-Oct-09 09:29:51

'Junoesque' ie LARGE. My mum said I looked Junoesque on my wedding day (was three months pregnant) - cheers, mother.

UnquietDad Wed 21-Oct-09 09:33:52

What about "Rubens-esque"?

UnquietDad Wed 21-Oct-09 09:34:23

While we are at it, please ban "hunky".

Lizzylou Wed 21-Oct-09 09:35:15

How about "hung", UQD?

StealthPolarBear Wed 21-Oct-09 09:36:08

yes, I'm sure she probably is but I've never thought she comes across as small. Obviously there's the breasts, but then the fake tan, make up and huge eyelashes all seem to make her 'bigger' suppose it's the war paint effect
