To stuff dog poo through the letterbox

Of the multitude of offenders who let their dogs run riot and crap all over the pavement on the way to school

I can usually negotiate the crap run fairly well with 2 pre schoolers, but took my eye off the ball today and have now got 2 stinky pairs of shoes festering outside the front door.

This pisses me off too.

I have a dog and it would never even occur to me to let him foul the pavement.
I was walking along with my DCs once when a guy let his dog crap on the road.
We all had a very loud conversation about how revolting it was and why would anyone do that - were they very rude or just very selfish.
He back tracked and cleaned it up

Ugh! It's disgusting isn't it? It makes me want to scream. I can't stand having to dodge it everyday with my double pushchair, I'm paranoid about it getting on the wheels or standing in it.

How are you planning to correctly identify which poo belongs to which letterbox?

What happens is that on one side of the road, there is a row of houses, most of which seem to house all size and manner of dogs. The footpath on the other side of the road is bordered by quite a wide grassy area, so the people from the houses let the dog out, let it run across the road, have a crap and then run back across again. They all have their own front gardens which makes it even more minging

I wouldn't have got a dog if I wasn't willing to pick up its poo - and I did think long and hard about whether it was something I was prepared to do, as there's no way I'd be one of the lazy ones who leaves their dog poo on the pavement so the rest of us have to do the dogpoo slalom - not easy when you have buggies and/or toddlers! It's hard enough watching wherever you put your own feet without having to watch several other pairs of feet/buggy wheels too!

If you can identify the right house, I'll be right there with you, stuffing the dog poo in!

Or you could scoop said poo into a paper bag, deposit it on neighbour's front step, light it and ring the doorbell. When they come out and see something on fire, they will invariably stamp on it to put it out.

I'm not advising you to actually do this, just pointing it out as an option

It's bloody infuriating, isn't it?

I'd leave a sign on a lamp-post if it's always n the same place.

And if I could, I'd rub their bloody noses in it.

What about letting your DCs out to poo in their front gardens? Or leaving dirty nappies on their side of the pavement?

This drives me mad. We've just got a dog and it is part and parcel of dig ownership and it really isn't hard. I take the dog into the woods and each day there seems to be more and more and it is absolutely disgusting, on the pavement is even worse

From a very liberal dog owner whose dogs are off the lead in the local park and who generally expects people to tollerate her (polite, well behaved) dogs with the same grace that she tollerates their (polite well behaved) children.

Letting you dog crap on the pavement is utterly disgusting, shameful anti-social behaviour. It gives dog owners a bad name and re-enforces all the 'anti-dog' people's arguements as to why dogs should be "banned from here" or "only on the lead there" etc etc. A call to your local council might be in order if you have a good idea who the responsible parties are as I'm sure there are fines associated with this behaviour now.

Dogshit on footpath/shared public spaces makes me want to beat someone senseless.

If you don't want to pick up the shit, don't have the fucking dog. Not that difficult an equation you would think.

I took assertive action on this the other week

I made a poster 'politely' (didn't swear though) requesting that the fuckers clean up after their animal

I taped it on the pavement next to the offending pile that I got covered in that day

Later that pm it was gone...

notnowbernard · 19/10/2009 18:13

The poo had gone, I meant to say

marenmj · 19/10/2009 18:47

notnowbernard you're lucky. I had a neighbor who posted a relatively-polite notice that dog "dirt" left in the common areas of our block of flats was disgusting.

So they put it through her letterbox

YANBU

We spend every morning avoiding great big piles of dog crap, it is literally on every pavement on the way to school/nursery.

I get sick of saying "mind the poo" to my 3 and constantly checking their shoes before we get in the house

I am a responsible dog owner and always scoop the poop, shame that some dog owners round here don't have as much consideration for others.

Report
Romanarama · 19/10/2009 19:00

Yes, I am constantly cleaning the poo between our front door and the car. Revolting, and unnecessary considering it's not that difficult to pick it up with a bag is it? I am thinking of putting up a polite sign, but the letterbox thing has me worried

Report
ZZZenAgain · 19/10/2009 19:03

but you would have to pick it up to stuff it through the letterbox

ugh

I'm sick of all the dog poo too. dd stepped in some yesterday and the shoes are outside awaiting attention. We do keep our eyes peeled but it's everywhere these days

today i took my dd who's 4 to the park just as she was about to come down the slide a dog came and weed all over the bottom of it.the owner just called the dog over and another lady whose dd was playing on the slide called after the woman and asked if she was going to clean it off the stupid cow just walked off.she had dc's with her so perhaps she doesn't mind them sitting in wee or poo.

Mrstimlovejoy - letting kids wade around in pee and poo is quite popular on MN

Sad to say that I do fantasize about doing this - if I could catch someone and had the time..

My dad once followed someone who had let their dog poo in our garden and threw it back over their fence.

My sister once came in our house announcing how good she was at tossing poo hshock

our lovely neighbour kept letting, and I mean letting, her dogs come into our front garden and shit on our front garden whilst she stood at the top of our drive watching them.

We saw her do it on more than one occasion so knew that all the previous incidents must have been her.

My sister bought a cheap plastic spade and scooped all the poo up and flung it into her garden whilst standing in ours!

Neighbour never did it again ]
