Was at shopping centre with sis (SGK) today and saw my best friend with her boys talking to police looking upset. Went over to see if all ok.
Friend was sitting having a coffee with her mum,ds1 and ds2 in shopping centre and some horrible little sods had thrown hard ball sweet off the second floor down at her and it hit her ds2 in the head. His 7 weeks old FFS!!!
I mean how stupid can a kid be to not see how much damage that could have done

BF has had PND (I think, shes low alot and doesnt go out much) and so this has likely set her back a good few weeks

Wanted to go and find them and beat them

well shopping centre had to be forced to call police, they didnt want to

Baby had been screaming but seemed ok, but a few cm either way could have done some serious damage.
hoping the cctv shows them for the horrible little brats they are!

They do sound like naughty kids but they weren't aiming for the pram were they and depending on how old they were it might not have occured to them the damage that could be done, we are talking a sweet not a brick here aren't we ?
Maybe it's a little reminder to us all to keep the hood of the pram up for protection.

hood was up and they were older kids, more like young teens, and not talking soft sweeties here, I mean those ones that look like BB gun pellets but bigger, about marble sizes and about same weight. From what was told they were sort of aiming

Broke are you serious? Keep the hood of the pram up for protection????! I think you're looking at it the wrong way around, the hood isn't there for protection you know You do realise that even a sweet from a certain height can cause a lot of damage? Sigh

YOu didn't say that in the OP did you.

Yes the hood is there for preotection from the elements and whilst nobody could predict a sweet dropping from above having the hood up would certainly not be a bad idea for all sorts of reasons, bird poo, peoples ciggies etc.

I did say it was a "hard ball sweet" in OP, and this was indoors, so I certainly wouldnt have had hood up if it was me, she happen to have it up as he was sleeping at the time.

I already assumed it was indoors, don't think they needed protection from the elements.

Keep the hood up for protection? Are you being serious?

Broke, are you serious? YANBU and I hope their parents enforced a serious punishment, do you know how old these kids were?, I wouldn't have had the hood up in a shopping mall either unless my lo was sleeping some kids need to be taught how to behave

poor Mum and poor baby. I hope they are both ok.
i hope they catch the little shits who did this, even small objects thrown from a height can be very dangerous and even fatal.
Brook are you for real????
