AIBU?

To think that Next should open at 9am?

If that's the opening time, instead of the woman wandering through with the keys at 5 past?
I'd been waiting for it to open since 8.55 so was sick of waiting! They then didn't redeem themselves with the service.

(BTW I am not furious, frothing at the mouth, suggesting slapping her or reporting her so please no "YABU to get so worked up"-type replies. Also no "my grandma's dog's just died, some people have real worries" replies. Other than that, feel free to tell me IABU )

YABU

I suppose technically they should open at 9am but what's 5 minutes? Their watches or yours could be out by a minute or 2. It isn't a matter of life or death - there is no reason for it to be spot-on accurate.

And unless you are going in for children's clothes or take back an unwanted gift why would you want to go in there anyway?

YANBU but I'm happy to purse my lips in Next's general direction. They annoy me ...charging for a catalogue indeed

well I was listening to the radio and all the 9 o' clock news on the channels I flicked through seemed well and truly over.
Do people hate next then? I only seem to have maternity trousers which are shapeless & falling down, so went to buy some plain black trousers. Seems I'm now a size 18 so tried them on in a long length. They were a bit too long so asked the woman to get me the regular length. She did, and I could see at a glance that they wouldn't fit - size 8 on the 18 hanger!! And as I came out I could hear someone else having the same conversation about a coat!

ooh yes charging for a catalogue, what a cheek!
so IABU for going there? I can live with that , but it's really the only clothes shop nearby that's not in town

What's wrong with Next? Kids clothes are fab, wash well, last well & not to badly priced Perhaps I'm alone on thinking that

YABU they should stay shut, permenatly

Their clothes may be pleasing to the eye, but they fall apart after one wash and the staff are as useful as a hat full of arseholes

And they have a cheek charging those kind of prices

But hey, thats just my opinion, shop where you like

ooh the other thing I hate about them is that the hem of every pair of trousers I buy falls down after one wear

I went into a branch of Next on Sunday once and browsed for a good fifteen minutes (have no idea how long they had been open) only to be told when I went to pay that I had to wait till 10am or some such. Thought that was ridiculous and unlikely to gain them many customers. Just open at 10 and don't give me false hope!

yanbu, can understand that would be annoying.
why does everyone hate next??? i am suprised

fizz the sunday thing is fairly common i think, it allows them to stay open longer and get around sunday trading. i've seen it done in some primarks aswel and i presume other places too

I don't hate them, hate is a very strong word to be applied to clothes, I just think they are over priced, skimpy, and dull, dull, dull. They have the odd colourful top or jumper but whenever I go in our store I am just seem to be faced with rows and rows of black and grey, usually suits. Yuck.

Plus I had a run in with Next catalogue too when I bought some children's clothes (which irritatingly always seem to have some Next logo on them). I kept paying via their website, which for some reason feels the need to shut down after midnight (), and they kept sending me letters with late payment charges saying I hadn't paid. Pissed me off tbh.

So I don't go there.

Oh and you pay for the catalogue but what are you meant to do with them at the end of the season? Can't recycle them easily because of their hard cover. They seem to end up as land fill. Totally unnecessary. Persumably they put the glossy hard cover on them to justify charging a fee for them.again.

That turned into a little bit of a rant didn't it?

yabu being in next at all. Anything you wear from there screams Next - and thats not a good look!

ok ok I get it
yes, i hate the baby things with 'next' on too, although given DD's "weeing on her clothes" routine they're pretty accurate - i need the next one handy i do like their childrens clothes though - nice and colourful

I love their kids clothes but I probably wouldn't buy anything for myself from there - very uninspiring and I'm not too keen on the material a lot of the time.

I don't mind the 10 am thing just wish they had advertised it in store and I would have come back later rather than having to hang around with an armful of clothes.
