I like the idea of a ready meal every now and then, like tonight for example, when my children have been fed at their grandma's, dh is away, and I came home late after a governors' meeting. And don't the ready meals all look sooooooo tempting on the packaging. But they all taste HORRID. Aren't there any that are actually edible?

No, they're all poo. Except maybe the indian 'takeaways' from S'burys, they are ok.

Best ready meal is a boiled egg and soldiers, or tin of soup.

M&S Lasagne is pretty good - obv not microwaved though.

Also morrison's curry's are reasonable - not the ones with rice, but the supposedly fancy ones with the separate side dishes.

Touch nothing from Asda, mind.

I'd rather have beans on toast TBH although would agree that the curies from supermarkets are not bad (Waitrose are great)

Sainsburys TTD lamb kofta kleftiko is lovely. Cook your own rice or cous cous to have with.

Well, for the second time in a fortnight we have had Asda 'smart price' Lasagne £1.99, and it's pretty good!

After checking the ingredients (inc wine, cream, cheese etc - not too much artificial crap), we gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised.

Worth a try!

I like Asda Extra Special fish pie, and Tesco Finest Pizza.

I don't have them often though as they are expensive. Cheaper than proper takeaway though.

Had Waitrose Creamy Fish Pie tonight, very nice but expensive.

I agree with pudding.Nothing would induce me to eat dog food in slurry as they all are.

My quick and easy hot meal is omelette, baked potato, soup/egg and toast or noodles with greens and extra coriander and chilli.
I also do a big bowl of flaked salmon (which I steam) brown rice and soy beans, dressed in sesame oil, soy, wasabi and rice vinegar ND HEAT IT UP.

M&S used to do a lovely crayfish and mango salad, but the ready meals are dreadful, although the eggplant parmesan was OKish.

baked potato with can of smoked tuna

M&Sm Tescos and Asda mushroom risottos are all good. Some of the individual pies or salmon en croutes are good too. Waitrose thai curries are nice.

Stuffed fresh pasta. Usually on offer (ie Tesco 2 for £2.75 offer) and jars of sauce. Currently liking Jamie Oliver sauces but only if they are on offer.

I always have a supply of both for lazy suppers. Add salad if you're feeling posh.

these are good organic and have no nasty additives. bit pricey though. I'd rather cook it myself but if you are cash rich and time poor these meals are a good option.
