im very very confused ..... i suspect i have a gremlin who is eating my forks and tea-spoons . i keep buying more and still they go missing .... it must be a very hungry gremlin.
i have also taken to searching the bin before it is taken out.<<<boak>>
still no luck.
i have moved the cooker, the washing machine, the tumble dryer and the fridge-frezezer..(alas i have no dish-washer)
i cannot find them .
i have begged, pleaded, and cryed at the DC to help me find them- they look at me like i have two heads!
its a bad bad thing having a family of ten with only six forks!

i also have a sock gremlin, a tea-towel gremlin and a left- shoe gremlin.

down the side of the sofa?

I ended up buying packs of 6 in the pound shop just to keep enough 'to hand'.

The sock gremlin and cutlery gremlin are best buddies

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:30:54

teenagers- that would be the oddly behaved larger children that speak only in grunts?
i have checked their rooms... no luck ....but i did find a new species of penicillin in their waste- basket <<<<eeeewww>>>shock

I reckon I used to lose mine in the polystyrene boxes kebabs come in - since we had the DDs and DH stopped getting ratarsed socialising as much, we haven't lost any...... He used to leave the boxes closed on the worktop in the kitchen and I would throw the stinking foetid things into the bin first thing in the morning - probably still with the fork inside.

aaaahhh <<<penny drops>>> packed lunches! -We could be onto something here , two middle kids always have packed lunches...hmm

VinegarTits Sun 20-Sep-09 22:37:15

Get some placcy cutlery for lunches

Hassled Sun 20-Sep-09 22:37:29

With us it's packed lunches. And then they deny it, to the point that I've questioned my sanity. Now I give them those Frubes things - no need for teaspoons.

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:37:39

that explains tea-spoons , i think . they usually have little jellys or yogarty things.... but forks???? nope . ..its a mystery ,whats happened to them?

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:40:21

ive got horrible lovely plastic picnic stuff they are supposed to use for packed lunches.... still have full set - asda less than a quid grin. dont think they've been useing it.

differentID Sun 20-Sep-09 22:43:01

what you need is a little lockable case for all the family cutlery.
it gets locked away at night with only you/ dh having the key so when they get their spoons for yoghurt in the morning they get crasppy plastic onesgrin

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:43:33

problem with frubes is that ds2 has discovered they make a nifty impromtu squooshy "gun" for fireing at favorite sister on walk to school. hmm
inventive isnt he? little horror treasure!

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:45:08

i think a lockable case for the children would be a better idea! .... ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET ONE? grinwink

CrystalQueen Sun 20-Sep-09 22:45:41

They're on holiday with my forks. Plenty of spoons though - maybe I have yours?

Ponders Sun 20-Sep-09 22:47:27

If it helps I have lost quite a bit of cutlery out the back of the drawer & down into the cupboard below...but the main culprit in this house is DH, who takes packed lunches with proper cutlery angry

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:50:11

seriously i must buy a packet of tea-spoons every fortnight.... mabey its a mission to keep all the fork/spoon makers in jobs? .
its a bit blush when we have guests in " oh yes we have two sittings for dinner"

Ewe Sun 20-Sep-09 22:51:54

I have had four forks appear in my drawer this week - no clue how they got there or where they have come from, maybe they are yours?!

Why don't you buy in caterers cutlery trolleys full of cutlery?

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:53:13

<<<<SOBS>>>> they`ve got my lovely bamboo-style handled cutlery and wont give it back...... damn you gremlins!!!!! <<< shakes fist all melodramatic>>>>
why dont they take the smart price specials?

differentID Sun 20-Sep-09 22:54:23

they have good taste?

drlove8 Sun 20-Sep-09 22:56:33

differentid - i have a problem with storage - clearly when i store stuff eventually it disapears!
perhaps there is a black-hole in my drawers thats just sucking everything in bit by bit, but forks and spoons first???

differentID Sun 20-Sep-09 22:58:54

my teaspoons are probbly with yours, don't have anyone to blame but myself in this house. Mostly.

We have an underwear goblin though- it's getting ridiculous atm.
