OOhh I am buying an i30 and I am having it in red!!!

I like the blue too but I didn't want to pay nearly £400 for metallic paint.

Red's a great colour, it's only if you stick go faster stripes on it that you look like a twat

Doesn't red fade?

Oh I love shiny red cars! Out galaxy is red and whenever we park next to a white or silver car the galaxy lends it a gentle blush

Yes the only probably with red cars is they have a tendency to pink, but in my experience it takes a few years.. i had a red fiesta which i bought 9 years ago, it was 3 years old, and it was still showing no sign of pinking 3 years later when some fucker wrote it off for me
I loved that car it was my first

I got an amazing deal on the I30, my 3yo Hyundai Getz with under 30,000 miles on the clock + £4900 for a brand new I30!

We worked out that it would probably cost me twice that if I replaced the Getz in 5 years time, due to the depreciation on the Getz and economic growth driving new car prices up.

'pinking' - didn't know it had a technical term!!!!!

oh I'm glad you don't think it's too flashy etc~I originally wanted the blue with blue/black interior but they only had black interiors left and the blue looked a bit samey{Ihave had a blue car for ten years lol].

So I dithered with black, lime green but was taken with the shiny red in the end then woke up today wondering if I'll be shining like a beacon on the school run!

personally i do think bright red is a bit tacky, although we got a new car this week and choose black which i'm sure many would find very dull/conservative!

ihatethecold · 20/09/2009 14:34

red is not tacky, get a life !!

well at one time all the cars were red, then they were all silver, then they were various pinks etc

I think now could be the new dawn for red!

Black is my other main option but it didn't look as shiny ~ admittedly the car hadn't been cleaned as well as the red.

Oh well,I guess I've got to the tacky age!
