To want to report my "drives like a nutter" neighbour?

Couple have been in rented house a few doors down from us for a few weeks, the bloke drives like a complete nutter in & out of what was a quiet cul-de-sac. He has almost run me over once (last time I looked I was a grown up who does know how to check the road - he came round the corner like a mad man).There are lots of youngish children in the area, not all of whom are perhaps as careful as they could be on crossing the road.

There was also an incident where I had to stop on the road as there were a couple of kids scooters in the way, this bloke came up behind my car, obviously could not be bothered to be patient while the kids moved things and so charged past on the pavement.

I am not good at direct confrontation - do you think the local police would take this seriously, or would I need proof?

I think they would take no interest at all personally (although I would be as annoyed as you are if he lived near me). I suppose it would be worth doing as there may be a chance he has no insurance or is driving on a ban or something?

Yes might be worth a try - quite often people who drive like this don't have insurance or some other stupidity is involved...
