long one!!
my DD just started school and didnt settle in very well but thank goodness has got better thanks to pack lunch!! another story!!
mentioned to MIL (cause she never calls to see how she is doing) that she is wasnt settling very well and that was not overly impressed with school teacher so far!! my DH attended this school when he was kid and said to his mum that he doesnt want our DD to have same negative experience in the school that he did, she turned around and said 'no!! wasnt the schools fault it was you!!! it runs in the family!!!' (oh by the way she works for the school!!) i think that she thinks more of the school that she does of her son and granddaughter, AIBU to think that she is a cow to say this!!

i agree mil = cow

go with what you and dh want not your mil, if the school isnt right change it. it was not your dh's fault and it is not your dd fault.

I'd sympathize with you, but I'm a pedant, and those multiple exclamation marks are making me feel ill.

Does dd's school teach them to use exclamation marks sparingly and only ever one at a time? If so, I'm on your MIL's side. If not, I'm on yours.

am thinking about starting another thread about my outlaws, maybe tomorrow when I've calmed down a bit!

It isn't that long. Can you expand a bit? It'll save AIBU by stealth, I should know, I've ranted here myself and regretted it.

Why did a "pack lunch" help? Tell us the story.

She does sound like a bit of a nightmare but I can't work out why from your post just yet.

Perhaps a new school would help...

Gosh!!
I can see she might be abit prickly as she works there, but all children are different and take varying times to settle.

Couldn´t she have just said that??
