gave friend car seat that my 2 dcs had outgrown when she had her first dc last year ... in the meantime, I am pg again. Due in 3 weeks, so realistically it could happen any time now, dc2 was early, so you never know .. but in any case, what pg women doesn't want to feel sorted and on top of it with all the stuff for the new baby? Anyway, I've told her a couple of times that I'll wait until she gets the next car seat for her dc but have encouraged her to do so asap to allow for delivery time/ the possibility it might be out of stock etc etc ... still nothing .,, so last week I asked whether she had ordered the new one yet as I wanted to get mine back and she said that she hadn't ordered a new one yet as she is waiting for me to tell her which one to get!!!!!!
am rather irritated, although I accept that I am also unreasonable simply by virtue of being heavily pregnant...

to clarify, when I say "gave' her the car seat, it was always made clear that it was on loan.

When you gave it to her, did you say it was on loan until you needed to use it or until she no longer needed it?

Personally i would go round to her house and ask directly for it back. it may be she is being very lax and keeps putting it off. perhaps take the argos catologue round if she wants recommendations and tell her you need the one you lent as baby could come any day now.

tell her to come on mn to get some recommendations for new car seats - she might get the hint if you keep bumping this thread

failing that offer to take her to halfords/argos to get the new seat so that the previous one can be returned?

Tell her nicely that if she doesn't give it back pronto your dh may be coming around to collect it to bring you/new baby home from hospital and she will be left with no seat at all!
