AIBU?

To refuse to push the dc 5,5(nearly 6) and 4(nearly 5) on the swings, roundabout anymore?

Dp and I took the 3 dc to a lovely local park, loads of lovely climbing frames, slides, pirate ship etc in it.

The dc kept nagging for us to push them on the swings etc. We sent them away with a flea in their ear as felt they are now more than capable of entertaining themselves in a lovely park for half an hour whilst we get time to chat.

It's also high time they learnt to swing themselves, had a teeny pang of guilt(quickly squashed) so just thought I'd get some other opinions.

Thanks

It gives you something to do though! Nothing more boring than taking older DCs (who don't need you to push) to the park if you don't have another adult with you

My dds are 4 and 5 and, while I will push dd2 when her feet don't reach the ground, I won't do it for dd1 any more.

Annoyingly, though, the roundabout is really stiff so I have to give them a hand. And I helicopter all over dd2 when she's on anything climbey .
