I have a 14 day old new born, third child, the others are 7 and 2.
It is now ten to nine and the father of the play date child has just come to pick up his daughter.....he dropped her off at nine this morning.
Taking the piss or what!

sorry, not implying that you are awful to be with all day or anything! but it's a long time to be away from home

jellyjelly Thu 27-Aug-09 20:56:35

Yes maybe but what was agreed at the drop off?

theslightlypeckishcaterpillar Thu 27-Aug-09 20:57:09

That's terrible. Did he apologise for not turning up till late? What was the arrangement?

LightningBolt Thu 27-Aug-09 20:57:21

That is terrible!

traceybath Thu 27-Aug-09 20:57:22

Blimey - thats utterly outraegous. Did you say anything when he turned up?

Sagacious Thu 27-Aug-09 20:57:30

Thats not a playdate !
Thats childcare.

bigchris Thu 27-Aug-09 20:58:02

didnt you organise a picking up time?

LoveMyGirls Thu 27-Aug-09 20:58:42

Cheeky!

Littlefish Thu 27-Aug-09 20:58:54

What time was she supposed to be picked up?

baskingseals Thu 27-Aug-09 20:58:54

The arrangement was very vague, and i kinda knew what would happen BUT ye gods!

thisisyesterday Thu 27-Aug-09 20:59:50

basking, does ds have a name yet???

baskingseals Thu 27-Aug-09 21:03:00

No and my friend who made me put this thread on as she is hopping mad on my behalf (i'm used to this particular playdate and there is a loooong back story)

On the plus side kids have played out of the way all day.

TheCrackFox Thu 27-Aug-09 21:04:53

What a flaming cheek.

There is no way I would have this child round to play again.

lyraSilvertongue Thu 27-Aug-09 21:32:18

How does a play date end up lasting 12 hours? What was his excuse?

tinkerbellesmuse Thu 27-Aug-09 22:05:28

def taking piss.

I'd be furious.

In fact I'd have phoned him at 7 to say where the hell was he cos my own kids were hoing to bed.

And with a nb I'd have been phoning an hour later to say I was going to bed.

DesperateHousewifeToo Thu 27-Aug-09 22:07:40

shock I'm speechless!

lolapoppins Thu 27-Aug-09 22:07:57

Are you going to send him a bill? Whats the going CM rate?

zanz1bar Fri 28-Aug-09 21:38:47

Unbelievable, truly unbelievable.
I say again and again truly unbelievable.

baskingseals you have the patience of an angel, you should have let me at him.

And your baby is gorgeous!

TessOfTheDinnerBells Fri 28-Aug-09 22:18:59

So is he going to recipricate? Maybe print off a list of local childminders and suggest he checks them out....

BubbaAndBump Fri 28-Aug-09 22:35:56

At the risk of repeating above posts - WTF??!! I'd be going mental, and that's without a 14day old!! Please tell us he apologised profusely and had some fantastic excuse?

CitrusZest Fri 28-Aug-09 22:40:11

OMG! shock

CitrusZest Fri 28-Aug-09 22:40:58

Dying to hear the long back story!

baskingseals Sat 29-Aug-09 14:06:24

I used to live with her mum, CitrusZest, back in the day when we were both single mums, now more outwardly respectable (just don't look too deeply), and we are both v different. Tbh, I think she definitely has quite a few issues (the mum). Dd absolutely adores this child, and it has sometimes been very difficult to get them together which has been tricky to explain to dd. I think they truly love each other. So when I do finally get hold of dd's little friend, I'm so grateful they've got the chance to see each other, I don't really mind how long she stays.
