I have just been chatting to dh about how much I would like 3-5 days to myself (no kids, no dh) at home. I would LOVE to get my life in order without having to take ANYONE ELSE'S needs into consideration.

I've actually fitted in quite a lot of major decluttering this summer and the house isn't too untidy - though it is grubbier than I would like . I think I need to get the spring cleaners in and for me to spend a day at the spa

One of the benefits of being a SAHM I guess, no panicking over holiday childcare, I do get it easy on that front

I will miss them though (they're back 3rd and 4th)

I am lucky to work in a school and am not looking forward to going back. I have done major decluttering these hols as well. The dcs are older and look after themselves so it has been lovely to get on with things. None of us are looking forward to going back.

O, I dunno. I'm a contractor, and work a 40 hr week, so have only been able to afford to take one measley week off work during the whole summer holidays. I'd LOVE to be able to spend more time with the kids.

argh DD is summer born going into reception and they don't take her until 12 October

so she will have been off since end of July!

can't send her to school early because they won't take her, can only send her back to playschool if we pay stupid money and she goes for the whole term

Oh I know, our timetable (DSSs coming and going on a fortnightly timetable) is hideous.

Am secretly hoping the DSSs no longer have 8am starts on the mornings they are with us so that DP can take DD to school sometimes...

Oh yes, that's another thing - DD1 starts at 8.10am every day this year. Fortunately she'll be getting the bus, but I'll still have to get up and ensure she's at the bus stop for 7.20

2 weeks tomorrow , cannot wait, even though i work full time i am now dealing with:

over tired 9 1/2 year old who basically has ahd toomany late nights " ahh well it's the holidays" say i at 8 pm as by then have had 2-3 glasses of medicinal vino.

very bored and lacking in any structure nearly 5 year old thus making her extreamly rude/defiant prone to hysterical tears about everything

a fed up and exhausted nanny

a dh who has taken to going to the pub after work to avoid putting kids to bed

i fear we have lost one of our new kittens in the debris that is the playrooom....

YANBU BonsoirAnna - I'm feeling exactly the same. I keep trying to repeat the old lady's mantra in my head "enjoy them when they're young - enjoy them when they're young..." but they get soooo bloody irritating when they're constantly bored, hungry, not bored but making a mess etc. I dreamt last night I'd left home and divorced my husband because of it! It's obviously getting to me....
