YANBU - but I love holidays. Yesterday dh pointed out that there are only two weeks left and I was in quite a panic at the thought of getting back on the treadmill.

I need to go back to school, to start loosing weight again! I've eaten far too much, because I can pick all day here. If I'm at work, I'm darting all over the place and don't have access to a fridge every 5 mins!!

saadia smile , its just 1 of those days i suppose , dh is working until 9pm & dd is sick & ds is plying outside with 6 other boys and they just seem to be arguing all day today , i have just handed them all out ice pops & told them to chill out & play nicely AIBU blush
oh & the constant holding the finger on the doorbell is driving me mad

The first week was hell and I was ready to Freecycle both boys.

I think they needed time to readjust to each other and now we are having a ball!

Swimming (private pool at the gym today!)

Soft play

Lots of different parks this summer

Wigwamming in Herefordshire

Junk modelling

We are having a really good time. Nephew has been here all week and they have been really great. Next week I might be ready to ebay them again! grin

You should move to Scotladn, where the children are all safely back in scool now grin.

Though they do break up in June, so it's the same difference, you just go mad a little earlier in the summer.

ha midnightexpress lol smile i am sitting here just counting the days until school starts up again , 10 days left & calm shall be restored ( ignorance is bliss), i have had them all under my feet in the playroom on/off all day , they are outside now but are now annoying the life out of me to come back inside aaaggghhhhhhh ,

I love the holidays but today I'm having one of those days where I just want a bit of peace and quiet.

Thankfully the DC got an invite from another family so I now have 2 hours to recharge my batteries.

I'm dreading the return to school as I hate the mornings of "Hurry up and get dressed/eat your breakfast/brush your teeth...." ad infinitum

elmofan Fri 21-Aug-09 14:45:38

lol grin midnight , have pulled the blinds down also , thank god for MN its the only thing keeping me sane today .

Saxonne Fri 21-Aug-09 14:52:44

YABU! I work in a school so I get all the holidays off too, and being a naturally lazy person I love, love, love being at home! Even if the DD's are being a pain I would rather be at home than work anyday. Not having to rush in the mornings, not getting dressed at all if we can't be bothered, daytime TV, taking all day to do chores rather than rushing around after work.

And when we go back to school in 2 weeks it is only 7 weeks until half term, then another 7 til Christmas hols, yay!

elmofan Fri 21-Aug-09 15:16:14

saxonne i am a mum on the edge today ha please don't talk about all the other holidays to dread look forward to smile

FourArms Fri 21-Aug-09 15:21:28

I've had a lovely summer holidays this year. It seems to have gone really quickly, maybe because I worked p/t for the first two weeks, so now I'm enjoying it more? But no, YANBU, we've had bad days too!

elmofan Fri 21-Aug-09 15:28:10

ok i have just made a deal with them all , if they give me a half hours peace to put the dinner on then after dinner they can come back inside to play the playstation for a half hour grin when i asked them " do you know you are all driving me mad today" the ALL laughed & shouted YES , kids eh , lol

OK up until last week, but getting very fed up with teenagers using house as B+B. REFUSE to do school work till next Monday, so the pressure of leaving stuff till next week + teenage hordes = ready to go back to work!!!!

FiveGoMadInDorset Fri 21-Aug-09 23:20:49

Yes please and DD is only 3.5 blush but in our defence, we both work from home and although we have a lovely girl who looks after them she is struggling to cope with the concept that we are in the house but can't play with her.

elmofan Sat 22-Aug-09 14:01:36

oh fivegomadindorset it must be hard working from home with your lo running around , my dd (3.7) has just started pre-school so when ds goes back to school soon this will be my first time in 10yrs to have the mornings to myself , haven't got a clue what i will do with my free time ,
