AIBU?

To think Amanda Holden is a bitch

She was on Alan Carr tonight and was gratuitously unpleasant and unbelievably bitchy about Susan Boyle.

I didn't watch 'Britain's got Talent' and am not a particular Susan Boyle fan, but it strikes me that someone with Susan's background needs to be treated really sensitively and I couldn't believe what I heard tonight.

mummywhereisyourwille I saw that and thought it was dreadful, a real cheap shot.
At least Susan Boyle has a discernable talent. What exactly is AH talented at?

Bitchy about Susan Boyle? In what way?

masonicpixiesreadthedailymail · 17/08/2009 00:18

being on blind date?

marrying the chap off family fortunes?

flicking her hair?

having botox?

making her accent posher by the day?

being able to affect crying like a proper person?

clapping people off in way that could be derisory / sincere

A mine of talent!

she and Alan Carr put on wigs and moustaches and impersonated her singing

Report
hambler · 17/08/2009 00:22

she also spoke about conversations she had with SB, making out SB was an unsophisticated thicko

Report
hambler · 17/08/2009 00:22

mummy I am glad you brought this up.I am glad I am not the only one who thought this

Report
cornsillk · 17/08/2009 00:24

How nasty of her. Wonder what Simon Cowell will make of that.

cos without AH giving you that inside info it would be terribly difficult to decipher that SB had learning difficulties and looked somewhat badly turned out?

I have always thought AH was fucking offal. Wow - how adept

Simon would give her a good cussin

I saw that, only saw the singing and when she took the monobrow and made a moustache while cackling and thought it was awful. Very very cruel.

Why on Earth did she think that was acceptable considering that BGT has already been accused of exploiting vulnerable people.

Report
hambler · 17/08/2009 00:59

cornsilk, I know. I watched open mouthed. It was not even funny or clever, not even in a cruel way.
Imagine mocking someone with learning difficulties ...for having facial hair?

Report
MrsGladpuss · 17/08/2009 01:02

I saw it and thought it was nasty and a bit rich considering people didn't watch BGT to see Amanda Holden. She is happy to make money out of Susan Boyle but not prepared to treat her with any respect

Vile woman.

I missed it but dh saw it and couldn't stop talking about how vile it was. Very little shock him on tv nowadays, so Amanda Holden must have given a helluva performance.

shocks even

Especially considering AH's fivehead is scarier than Susan Boyle any day.

Masonic - You forgot to mention:

Shagging Neil Morrissey. Which catapulted her to notoriety.

I thought it was in very poor taste too.

Report
ninedragons · 17/08/2009 03:51

I didn't know about Neil Morrissey.

Talk about demonstrating a complete lack of judgment.

Urgh. The thought is making me feel quite queasy.

Report
vanimal · 17/08/2009 03:55

Agree - she was totally out of order. Witch.

I remmeber reading somewhere that when she left that drama based in South Africa (sorry cant remember what its called) the atmosphere went lovely & everyone got on & had a right laugh.

yes I thought it was nasty of her too. Susan Boyle has learning difficulties and needs support and encouragement not ridicule.

I thought you would all like to know that I saw Amanda Holden in M&S in Richmond and she looked very haggard, very shabby, and very, very old.

There was something "by" A.H in one of the Sunday supplements yesterday, (found at my mum's house natch )

She was saying that she respects and admires Susan Boyle enormously and owes her U.S career to her. Nice way of showing it.

YANBU. She is a bitch.
