To think my mum should not have gone to the clinic.

My mum phoned me yesterday morning to tell me not to come round (I'm 31 weeks pregnant) as she thought she had flu. I told her she should phone the NHS number as it could be swine flu.

Later on she told me she had been to the clinic and they thought it was swine flu. I told her she should NOT have gone to the clinic and she backtracked and said she didn't think it was flu at the time. I was annoyed as there could have been someone vulnerable in the clinic and she had a responsibility not to spread it around.

I can see why you'd be a bit annoyed but it's easy to say when it's not you. She might have panicked. In the cold light of day I know not to go the clinic but that's not to say that if dd started showing symptoms that I wouldn't dash round there in a panic. I hope I wouldn't but you can't tell really till it's you.

I dont think shes alone, my FIL did exactly the same this week, and I have been sat waiting to see doc when people come in sneezing and say 'oh I need to see a doctor i think ive got swine flu'

People above the age of 60 generally think rules do not apply to them

There is a big sign on our gp's surgery that says if you are displaying signs of swine flu, do not enter the building.

Agree with mosschops30. People above the age of 60 generally think rules do not apply to them.
