AIBU?

To think that when people have gone to the trouble of answering a post

It should not be removed just because the OP has a strop that she made herself look silly and did not like the answers given??????

Threads about threads usually end badly IME.

If it don't go my way I can strop and have it removed

I did ask for one to be removed a long time ago as I put something on that after consideration decided I did not want on the WWW and was told my posts could be removed but not the whole thread as people had taken the trouble to post on it.

...on second thoughts..

Holds out bowl for popcorn branflaks.

I guess my question is when did it change so you can get a whole thread removed, and is it rude to do so after people have answered, also I think some people like to know the outcome if anything was resolved and so on.

Meh - same experience here of MNHQ, I must say.

I threw a wobbler (ages ago) and emailed them and asked that they removed the thread and they said no.

Maybe there was another reason why the thread was removed?

Don't know, just wondered why it is now ok to do.

MNHQ will no doubt come along and tell us

Why don't you start a thread in Site Stuff and ask them?

Hmm, if its the one I'm thinking of she really didn't like the advice and comments (which IMO were perfectly reasonable - you really shouldn't post in AIBU if your not prepared for some strong responses - that's if I'm thinking of the right one) but that is no reason to have the thread removed. Amongst what you might not like there are always bits that you can take away that are good. And the usually the things you dont like have the best / most honest advice.

....few, that was a bit of a ramble but hope you get what I mean.

Which thread? What was it about? Who was the OP? I NEED TO KNOW!

Report
StillSquiffy · 05/08/2009 10:05

no no no don't CAT. We ALL want a link to whichever thread it is that's being discussed

We definately need to get MN to attach their 'pin' sign as an alert to the juicy threads (defined maybe as once they reach, say 15 or emoticons)... tis only fair.... hwat say you, Techy? Am sure you can put somethig in place for the rubberneckers....
