I am a recovering Crocaholic and even I drew the line at DH wearing them. Not that he would have.

What colour of Crocs did they have on?

Crocs are never a good look. YANBU.

Ah but were they all the same colour!?

I've seen a family of 4 all in crocs and I did childishly giggle a bit.

If YABU then so am I aswell!

it was one of those earnest but rather frumpy families where the ( perfectly well off looking ) mum hadnt noticed her sons jeans were almost shorts

WHY Do women do that?

We wear faux crocs for camping although dp doesn't. Ds2 has taken a liking to his though but he's 8 so I'll let him off.

there is no excuse for such nonsense
Grown men in Crocs is esp offensive

My Mum and Dad wear Crocs and they bought some for my son... he didnt need them, he already had his summer shoes. The wasted money would of gone better toward his main fitted shoes

I will walk behind them on holiday

I don't get why people buy crocs for small children. The poor little blighters seem to have terrible trouble keeping them on their feet

Report
BadgersArse · 30/07/2009 12:34

I do hope all adults who wear them get fungla infections.

ds's crocs are a bit girly really, sky blue with yellow splodges, surprised he hasn't noticed? He like them though so will leave him until he's teased

Saw a largish man in lilac ones the other day ! Also elderly ladies in coordinated ones - noooo. The only place for them is during watersports or at the pool or beach, on young children

My dd had croc style shoes this year from Pumpkin Patch and they look lovely .

I can see her wanting them next year too and she'll be 9 then. Do I have to ban her?? They are jolly practical for holiday wear.

concerned about fashion above foot health? Have more money than sense? Are abusing their children? What a prig I am...

My mum used to make my grandma show us her 'witches' feet on a regular basis to demonstrate why we always had to have boring and unfashionable clarks shoes until we left high school... Can't think why this memory has stayed with me or influenced my behaviour with my children

Crocs are the devil's shoe

The wearing of crocs during inclement weather is lethal I tell you! [rubs bruised knees adn eyes crocs in the bin]

Report
Thunderduck · 30/07/2009 12:39

The only appropriate place for them in is one's home, where they can't be inflicted on innocent members of the public.

i think that worse than the family in crocs is the family going on holiday, at the airport all squeaking along in brand new pure white trainers! Accessorised with jogging bottoms and a nice nylon football shirt. Sometimes you see baby in pram dressed the same, and on accasion grandma bringing up the rear

The biggest problem with Crocs is when you stop wearing them.

Report
IotasCat · 30/07/2009 12:42

Trainers are much safer than crocs - they stay on your feet

Report
hippipotamiHasLost53lbs · 30/07/2009 12:44

Trainers far better - not so slippy on wet tarmac (rubs bruises again)
But trainers have laces - crocs you just slip into.

Have replaced crocs with funky purple patent pair of birkenstocks (awaits flaming) but am struggeling with them because after the squidgyness of crocs the birkies are so 'hard'!

I saw a little boy, about 4yrs old, in crocs on a scooter thingy a few days ago. As he came past me I thought 'ugh, crocs while scootering ' and as I was pondering, I'm not sure how it happened but he caught his croc on his scooter and fell off, while crying he shouted 'muuuuuuum, it was my shoe again!!'
Nuff said, Crocs are the devils shoe.

Are they permissible for walking the dog?

Much of my feelings about crocs extend to lelli kellys also... I look at children wearing them and think "yeah, they are cute but WHY? They are canvas shoes that your child will grow out of in 2 weeks and cost as much as your house"
