He is going to be 11.

I bought him a nintendo wii which he got early, he wants his ear peirced and he is getting a mobile phone ( i know i said i wasn't getting him one), I am also having a tea party with family tomorrow and at the weekend going for a meal with family and friends.

But I feel guilty that I have not got more for him....and that I have not had the time to arrange a party.

lol Hercules the tea party and meal are not really pressies though. SO he is only getting his mobile n ear peirced as the wii was an early pressie and is something we all use. guess thats why i feel guilty.

Okay, I agree about the tea party and weekend meal and I can see how the wii is more a family thing. I guess an earring doesnt cost much either. Mobile - that's a fairly biggy although could be a dirt cheap one too!

I agree thats plenty, that's sometimes the problem when presents are given early, I would say make sure that you get the wii on first thing and have a couple of games of what ever he's into!!

DD1 was 12 last week. She got £30 to buy clothes with and some secondhand books (that she really wanted). She was perfectly happy.

You say things are tight?
God, I'm loaded and wouldn't dream of spending that much on one of my kids!

Theearring idea is dreadful too.

I know he will be happy with what he has, he always is...i just wish i could have bought him more...still the family are all gonna be here so that will be fun.

He started asking if his wanker father was likely to call him to wish him happy b'day a little while ago....and thats when i started feeling guilty cos i know he won't.

Moon, the earring was something he first asked for at the age of 3, i told him no when he was 11 if he still wanted it we would go and get it done. Well he is 11, i thought he may have forgotten but he hasn't.

Cyrad, I always went OTT because i felt awful that his father never ever bought him anything even when they were having weekly then fortnightly contact he never so much as bought him a book. So i started to over compensate i guess. Then when I met dp he was just the same as me. and when I fell pg with ds2 well I didnt want ds1 to feel left out so i made/make sure he has all he could want as well as as much time I can physically spend with him.

have just read your post about the earring and reminds me of me,
I have told dd she can get her ears pierced when she is 13, and she can't have a tv until she is 13,
she wants to know why everthing has to wait until she is 13?
