To wait by my window with my hosepipe and spray people who look in my house when they walk past!?!???

I live on a very busy main road. Every single day without fail nearly everyone who walks past my house looks into my window? Why is this? It infuriates me why look into my house? why?!!!!!??? Im sick to death of people doing it and i have suddenly decided that tomorrow i am going to sit by my window with my hosepipe and soak people when they look through my window im going to soak them!!

i do that but i have no idea what i am looking at. I am generally in my own world and looking for the will to live. seeing the whatever gives me hope that life might not be as crap as i think it is.

Get nets. I'm not generally a net fan but our house is on the street and it stops people looking in and means you don't have to worry if you're downstairs naked or get amorous in the sitting room or something. Blinds cut out too much light. You don't have to go for granny type nets.

I used to live on a busy road and this is the only real alternative to nets.

People will look in - of course they will. Your living room looks more interesting than the rest of the road, and they can see right in!

I used to have this and got some voile type nets (plain white, no pattern) that way ould still nosey out of my window but no one could look in, however i did used to wander down our street lookign in all the time lol

Passers-by our house get a peek. We don't keep valuable electronics in the sitting room

Nets would be nice, but the cats would have them in tatters in no time. Not to mention that most people peering in are actually staring at the (unusual) cats! They usually give a great when they notice the people sat behind the cats on the sill!

It has always annoyed me that people like you moaning that someone is looking into your window when there are no bloody nets to cover the view, iyswim.

I suppose of a night you have your tv on and lights and still dont shut your curtains.

I love looking in other people's windows.

We used to live on a very busy road & people sitting upstairs on passing buses were able to see right in the bedroom windows so we had nets on all of them. DS (3 or 4 years old at the time) complained about having 'girls' curtains' Wish I'd known about window frosting then - it looks fab.

Surely you knew people would look in when you moved in? It was bound to happen if you live on a busy road and people use the pavement. It is human nature.

People don't just look straight ahead, they do look left and right. I doubt they mean any harm.

Get nets, get voiles, get blinds or even get those slatted shutters. Get some privacy that way.

Or move to a rural backwater away from prying eyes.

I suspect just sitting by the window and waving would have just as much a deterent and it would make every body, you and the passerbys, feel happier.

Oh for gods sake, why dont you nosey basatards keep your noses to yourselves whether someones got nets or not, do you pay for that house erm no, if you are a complete weirdo, why not stare into your own windows. + does that mean i should put nets up in the car to stop people peering in that too. Why be so rude + ignorant were you raised this way?. And to the op i would love to see you spraying people that would be hilarious. It would teach the nosey fuckers a lesson lmao.

Deranged is right. People can look wherever they sodding like, expecting them to do otherwise is both bizarre and bordering facist. Are you going to tell them what to think as well as where to look? I presume you don't look OUT of the window, since that would presumably be very rude to people walking past, soo intrusive, no?

If you want to block peoples view, do something about it. put up blinds or nets or frosting. Or move to somewhere with a giant hedge or wall! Or get the hell over yourself.

I remember when I was a kid and I used to do a paper round, one day a lady came out and v. sarcastically invited me in as I was obviously so interested in looking in. What she didn't realise was that I wasn't looking in I was just looking at my reflection in the window, to see how I looked, maybe that's what the passers by are doing?
Not having blinds/nets/frosted glass is unusual (neither do we) and I think that it just draws the attention of anyone walking by. Not persecution of you

I once lived in a student house where our table was right up against the window in the front room, which looked onto a fairly busy pavement. We used to eat our dinner there and treat anyone who peered in to a 'see food'.
