bumpsoon, we lost our thread. Maybe we need to get it back again. (seeing as I have been equally crap). Do you want me to bollock you. I will but I think it may be slightly hypocritical

YABU your an adult, you cant expect your friends and family to take responsibility for stopping you from damaging your health, give your self a kick up the ARSE

you're not giving up anything; you're gaining fresh air, health and wealth. Silly cow.

Will that do?

How was that for a bollocking? i have more if you can take it?

With regards to smoking - the only bollocking that works is a self-bollocking.

Go on, you know you want to (bollock that is, not smoke).

due to increasing bump im finding it difficult to kick myself up arse .You are of course completely right ,it isnt their responsibility BUT a bit of supportive tutting /sighing/rolling of eyes even would be good
zookeeper silly cow is that the best you can do ? I know its early but surely you can do a bit better

I think you can only successfully give up smoking when your subconscious has also got fed up with the smelly, expensive and unhealthy habit. In the meantime, consider yourself rather feebly bollocked.

Are you pregnant?
And smoking?

Biggest SIDS risk is smoking (I think smoking in pregnancy increases risk slightly- but smoking after birth in the house increases risk massively).

Oh stop being such a big fucking wussy, supportive tutting/sighing/rolling of the eyes my ares, that's not going to help you, you smoke because your WEAK and PATHETIC, your SELFISH and IGNORANT, and worst of all, your subjecting your tiny unborn child to your WEAK, PATHETIC, SELFISH IGNORANCE

Hows that?

Patches, check. Gum, check. Told DH to punch me before he lets me have a cigarette and informed him of danger zone, check. Willpower, bollocks, knew i was missing something.

Errrrrrrr...
How are you with answering whether any of these have any effect...
Smoking takes an average of ten years off your life?
Half of all smokers die before they're 65?
I know 3 smokers in their early 50s with breast cancer?
It costs a fortune?
I had bronchitis and ear infections caused by my dad's smoking every year until I left home?
Your kids are more likely to start smoking if you do?

Is any of that horrible enough? (I tried really hard!)
Good luck!

Remember physical addiction to nicotine lasts only 2 weeks - after that it's just psychological addiction.

Wow, VinegarTits, remind me never to get on the wrong side of you. Me and bumpsoon started a giving up smoking thread not so long back but were miserable failures so am taking the bollocking as well. I now feel WEAK, PATHETIC, SELFISH and IGNORANT

OH FFS - how old are you??? Seriously woman, grow up. It's not impressive or cool to smoke. You're perilously close to looking like Becky of Corrie, does she look like a role model, does she??? (I asked you a question...)

Sod the damage to your lungs, what about the wrinkles?? You can slap all the moisturiser you can find on your face, you're still going to look like an old hag if you don't quit.

smelling bad, having shit skin and a wheezing like an old coal miner is not sexy - this is your choice, don't pretend otherwise and don't say we didn't warn you.

Now pull yourself together, we are all very disappointed in you !!!

will that do?

I don't think a bollocking would do any good. You are already feeling guilty about smoking.

Is there an NHS smoking cessation group in your area? It might be worth asking your midwife what help is available.
