to want to lose weight?

I gained weight hugely with DC1 during pregnancy, almost 5.5 stone, didn't really lose it, then DC2 came along, have lost a good 2 stone the last 6 months, and am now a size 12-14.

However, I still have a hideously large post-baby belly which bulges out when I stand naturally and takes all my might as a human being to suck it in for photos Honestly, I look about 5 months pregnant and it hangs down over my belt line, it's that bad.

I am cracking on with the weight loss to shed a few more, to hopefully reduce the size of my belly and if the added bonus of a smaller ass happens along the way, then great

When I am offered chocolate cake etc I always politely decline but most people carry on with "oh go on, why not?", so I tell them I'm slimming to which I always get negative feedback, frowned upon and usually have a tongue in cheek remark regarding my weight loss/body/figure etc. I find it really awkward and uncomfortable.

AIBU to want to loose weight in peace?!

nope. But it's weird how many people seem to want to sabotage weight loss.

My mother is a bugger for it! Always wants you to have choc and biscuits etc the moment she knows you are trying to resist. It's like a challenge for her!

Re your belly - you might find, if it is post-baby sag, that exercise would be what you need, to firm up the muscles. Something like sit ups etc.

No, I get this too. I'm not massively fat (12) butI am for me, if you see what I mean. I'm happier when I'm slimmer but I feel like I have to pretend I'm not on a diet!

People are weird about other people losing fat.

I used to find it easier to not say anything. In any case I would probably have a small slice of a good chocolate cake or simply say that I didn't feel like it.

You just need to stop engaging with people about it, they don't do it on purpose but they will try to sabotage you into staying the same.

Issy, I know! I sometimes find myself denying it to people that I'm on a diet! Ridiculous isn't it?!
