To ask DH to bath the dc?

DH has been at work 12 hours and will be in about 7.30.

I know it would mean dc going to bed 1/2 hour later, but, aibu to ask DH to bath the dc (age 10 and 7)

I have felt ill for 10 days now (with headaches, dizziness and sickness) etc and know that bending up and down over the bath will make me worse.

I have made tea, it is in the slow cooker, so all he would have to do is have a bath himself and dinner would be ready when he gets down.

DD2 doesn't quite get her hair right and DD1 can't be trusted as she used too much of everything and messes about.

Surely they can sort themselves out. Dd aged 5 has a shower on her own, washes her hair with shampoo then conditioner. Dries and dresses herself too. It doesnt matter if it's not perfect.

At 10 and 7 they can bath themselves. Forego the hairwash.

why do they need any help

just warn about using the right amount and dont worry if hair is done right

order them to the bathroom and go to bed

Ok ladies, thanks, trinityrhino, I might have to go to bed, I'm getting fed up and worried now about being like this for 10 days with hardly any let up.

I'll just run their bath, get their towels and leave them to it.

Give dd1 the right amout of shampoo in her hand and don't worry about dd2's hair. Old enough to manage imo !

but that's not enough! if you've been suffering like this for over a week, there's obviously an underlying problem. Go back! Be persistent! It's hard to deal with kids all day if you're not well!

Kids are bathed and in bed, dh is in bed and in a mood.

isittooearlyforgin, they keep insisting i have an eye test, I had one a few weeks ago and all was well. I don't know how I'm going to cope at work on Tuesday, I'm on a pc all day and bright lights etc make me squint and feel sick.

as if it's not hard enough looking after 2 kids, let alone with pain and disgruntled hubby. Go for the eye test, you need to get it sorted. Constant pain is unbearable especially when you can't just have a lie down and sleep it off

More worried about OP than how clean the DCs are.

Hate to say it, but looking at a computer screen may not be helping.

Take care of yourself - optician may be able to help, but try to get another doctor's appt.

Why is your DP in bed when you're the one who's feeling ill?

Been to doctors again and this time I've come away with antibiotics, they are not sure what the problem is. Don't think they'll take away the pain somehow

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Forget the bath unless they are grotesquely filthy. Get your poor old self sorted out. x
