Have namechanged, but am regular, fruitshoots, greggs, moldies etc etc.

Me and DH have one password (shared) for every aspect of life that requires one inc., accounts etc. At the w/e he had a few glasses of wine and was about to reveal it to his brother (older, doesn't see v often), when I stopped him, at which point he laughed and gave a massive clue.

Afterwards I said he shouldn't tell anyone ever, that is the point of them, and bruv might reveal it by mistake etc. He thinks I am being completely U, I think he's an untrustworthy prat and we have a non-speaking stalemate. Who is BU?

You are both bu. You should never have the same password for everything.

YANBU

But, I tihnk you are both being very foolish indeed to have one shared password for every aspect of life that requires one. That's just making life too easy for anyone who wants to hack into your stuff or steal your identity. All they would need would be one peice of software to crack one of your passwords and hey presto they have your password to everything.

I agree re the silliness of one password, but it's the secrecy aspect I'm concerned with. I think a secret is a secret and that's it. The minute you tell one person, it's no longer a secret.

and if your DH could give his brother a "massive clue" then presumably your password isn't a random combination of letters and numbers, but something easily guessable. That is also highly foolish and I'd recommend changing it asap.

You should change your passwords regularly anyway, bit stupid to have 1 password for everything

different I agree, he shouldn't be telling a 'secret', but a password is more than a secret, it is confidential, and your DH should know that.

Giving out a password is stupid, but you really should change it to a variety of passwords for different sites.
My own dh gave his mother our ebay password. I know she wouldn't buy anything on it but I still wasn't happy to have her looking at underwear I might be thinking of buying etc! I changed it and have forbidden him to give it out again!
