no. yes. yes.

Of course it's not doomed. You will sell it again. Only weirdo's would avoid because of it's number and it's best you don't deal with them anyway wink

That said my old street didn't have a 13...

bubblerock Thu 02-Jul-09 08:24:08

I thought most streets didn't have a 13. Our Hotel had a room 2a instead of a 13! lol

I bought my house in 1997 and we are still here and it is number 13.

Not really a huge amount of bad luck but a wedding and 3 kids later it can't be bad

I had a great flat at no 113 where we lived for 5 years and sold for a big profit. Does that count?

I would live at no 13 too.

It's only "bad luck" (so I've heard) because of the story of the 12 disciples, Judas being the 13th (if you include jesus) (I may be talking out of my arse but it's something along those lines)... so I always think - I'm not christian so it has nowt to do with me, and if you are christian surely god will protect you and superstition has no place in your beliefs. So you're safe either way.

i prob would be dubious at buying a no 13

silly i know,but ......

Its just a number.. honest it is..there are a lot worse things you can do to tempt fate

good luck with the new house

13 isn't unlucky in all cultures, and I think it is considered 'lucky' in Wicca (covens consist of 13 , the lunar year had 13 months etc).

Maybe you could give your house a name that would make it seem luckier to you!

tinkerbelle200 Thu 02-Jul-09 08:57:50

flat 13 burnt down in my block, has been repaired but vacant, wonder why??

pranma Thu 02-Jul-09 09:02:37

I moved in to no 13 in 2005.In 2006 got breast cancer,in 2009 broke my leg.
In 2006 grandson 2009 2nd baby for daughter-lots of laughter, lots of tears-life in fact.None of my fellow bc sufferers lived in 13 as far as I know nor did those at the fracture clinic.I love my house-13 is only a number,My bc must have been there when I lived at no 1[previous house]and if I hadnt moved I'd have been over 100 miles from dd and family instead of 7.

13 wouldn't bother me, but I would think twice about 666.

TrillianAstrahasaJOB Thu 02-Jul-09 10:17:58

DOn't be ridiculous, it'll be fine.

OTOH you may have a slightly smaller pool of potential buyers if/when you choose to sell up because a small number of people are ridiculous enough to avoid buying house number 13 (or else they will avoid buying it just to make their elderly reltives shut up).

stokes chin thoughtfully

MangoJuggler Thu 02-Jul-09 10:23:42

Obv if I stoked my chin I would be on fire and that WOULD be unlucky

I passed my driving test first time on Friday 13th May - 13 is my lucky number.. grin

13 is a good lottery number to pick, because fewer people will use it, so if you win the payout is always bigger.
