Was watching Newswipe on Iplayer and the man makes me laugh out loud and seems not to take himself too seriously - a devastating combination IMO.

Yes I know he's married but you know, Charlie, if you ever decide that its not working out, y'know, give me a call sometime...

cornsilk Sat 27-Jun-09 18:28:03

madameovary Sat 27-Jun-09 18:28:37

Spicemonster - you mean he's NOT married???

[Prepares to bump thread several times in case CB sees it]

spicemonster Sat 27-Jun-09 18:31:44

Not as far as I know. Not that I'm stalking him or anything blush

Who's CB? I saw him first! Gerroff angry

He's not married (well he wasn't in Jan 09)

slackrunner Sat 27-Jun-09 18:32:53

I love his weekly column in The Grauniad.

cookielove Sat 27-Jun-09 18:33:10

He looks like a potato head, but each to their own and all that grin

BunnyLebowski Sat 27-Jun-09 18:34:32

Oh I have a massive crush on Mr Brooker! His grumpiness and general misanthropy turns me on big time. I really need to get out more don't I?

God you lot are weird fancying grumpy men.

cornsilk Sat 27-Jun-09 18:37:03

If a man's not prepared to fetch me a big mac when I'm hung over, then I'm not interested.

jeee Sat 27-Jun-09 18:38:09

YABU - now, if you'd said Ian Hislop it would be a different matter...

cornsilk Sat 27-Jun-09 18:39:58

God now I know I'm in a parallel universe.

madameovary Sat 27-Jun-09 18:41:08

Yes I know, but on balance I'd rather have a grumpy man than a charmer who turns out to be someone like my hideous fake of an ex.

No honeymoon period, no best behaviour, just a bitchfest of a date, an airing of all your worst habits and attributes and then compare notes.
That'll do me.

spicemonster Sat 27-Jun-09 18:47:55

He's grumpy but he's fucking funny. He'd make you snort and your wine would come out of your nose

stainesmassif Sat 27-Jun-09 18:52:40

i agree re cb, though madameovary, seeing as you have dibs i'll let you have him....he's angry about all the right things too. and can really drum up some invective when the mood takes him. very satisfying.

madameovary Sat 27-Jun-09 18:54:04

Thank you staines. grin

AnathemaDevice Sat 27-Jun-09 18:56:20

I don't fancy him, but I think he's fantastic, and think he should be Prime Minister. I wish I was as articulate in my grumpiness as he is.

McSnail Sat 27-Jun-09 19:01:27

I adore Charlie.

Did anyone see Dead Set?

madameovary Sat 27-Jun-09 19:03:19

I didnt as I dont like gore - even funny gore, but having heard about the zombie Davina McCall I may have to force myself!

stainesmassif Sat 27-Jun-09 19:11:36

you're welcome madame. grin back at you. Dead Set was great, combining my love of big brother and dystopian visions of the imminent future. god bless charlie brooker.

There a couple of male mners (current and past) I strongly suspect of being brilliant meeja types.

Charlie Brooker is genius. If you're reading come over to mine for dinner, hehe
