The neighbours downstairs had their DC's first birthday yesterday.
And just now there was a knock on the door and the mum handed me a VAST slab of the LO's birthday cake for me, DH and DS to share. They might be unreasonable gits sometimes, but by god they can make cake (new Mr Kipling slogan, anyone? )
Gorgeous light sponge, real cream, real fruit instead of jam ... it is heaven. I have already had two little tastes, and can see my self chipping away, bit by bit, until it's all gone.
SO should I just go the whole hog and eat it? DS doesn't need cake, DH will say he's trying to lose weight (and then moan once he's scoffed it) and I am STARVING and it's v v v delicious.
OTOH, I'm supposed to be trying to lose weight too and there must be a million calories, it's a bit selfish and I will feel sick (if gratified) afterwards.
WWMumsnetD? The decent thing or the greedy thing...?

AIBU?
...to eat a vast slab of cake before DH gets home and then deny all knowledge of it?
