I have 2 dds & 1 ds. I was never actually sick, but the nausea & hungover feeling was pretty bad. I definitely found it worse with ds & it lasted longer, about 20 weeks iirc - about 12 weeks with dds.

I lost a stone in the first 3 months of pregnancy with horrible morning sickness. I had ds.

I had morning sickness with ds for 3 months

I had bearable morning sickness with my first 2 DDs. This time (I'm 9 weeks pregnant) is awful. It's all-day nausea, horrid.

Will let you know in about 3 months if it's a he or a she in there!

Well with my 2 DS's no real morning sickness.

However felt sick and was sick this pregnancy until about 17 weeks and according to the scan its a girl.

So for me it may hold true.

We've had a lot of polls like this on the hyperemesis webstie. We've never found it to be true.

I'm currently pg with a dd and have been very sick all the way through.

With my first dd I was hardly sick at all.

It's bollocks imvho. It will be true for some but not for all. About 50:50 I'd say

I was worse with DD than DS.

Hmmm. I had what I thought was bad morning sickness with DS. Then had hyperemesis with DD. God, that was hideous.

I had a dd and a ds. Lots of all-day sickness with both. Although with dd, I really could not eat (and lost a lot of weight) but with ds the sickness was alleviated by eating.

What rubbish. I had dreadful morning sickness first time around, and none at all second time around. I have two girls.

Can I just point out that that article is 10 years old, anyone looked for anything more up to date?

ds1 - no morning sickness
ds2 - god-awful morning sickness
dd - no morning sickness

It's twaddle and an old wives tale.

But if you read the article - with bad morning sickness you're only a bit more likely to have a girl.

The male-female ratio was 44.3 to 55.7. This is statisitcally significant but obviously loads of people having boys still have bad morning sickness and loads of people having girls don't.

A straw poll amongst you and your mates or on a thread like will prove very little as the sample size isn't large enough.

Yes its exactly like saying if you suffer from heartburn/indigestion you are going to have a hairy baby.
With DS I wasnt sick at all, this time round im as sick as a dog, but have no idea what im having, so we'll soon see!!

I do think there is a lot to be said with having different morning sickness with opposite genders tho.

mine was bad with the girls

truely fucking awful with my boys, to the point of losing a stone during pregnancy, and the sonographer stating that scanning a concave belly was most bizarre!

I have a DD and a DS, I felt sick occasionally in both pgs but never actually threw up at all, for which I'm very grateful as some of you sound like you've been through hellish times.

My mum had a boy and a girl and didn't get morning sickness with either.

I have two girls and didn't get morning sickness with either of them.

My cousin had a boy and a girl and had the most awful morning sickness imagineable.

so I would say it depends on the person rather than the sex of the baby.
