Please bear with me, I've just finished a night shift and should be in bed.

I work shifts in a large 24hr supermarket as the clothing manager. We've been having a few issues with a member of my team coming in really earlier and then hanging around the store for hours after her shift finishes. Last night I was supposed to finally have a chat with her and find out what was going on.

I entered the clothing warehouse, all was dark and quiet as usual but I could here shuffling and moaning. Fully expecting to discover two members of staff at it, I crept round to where the noise was coming from and found the above mentioned woman in a rather awkward position with a clothing manequin. She'd obviously been at it for a while as she was flustered and in a state of undress. Not knowing what to say I left the warehouse and asked her to come to my office when she had 'finished' (said sarcastically but she took it seriously and rocked up HALF AN HOUR later)

I told how wrong it was and that if she was caught at it again she would be disciplined.

The problem is, even though the manequins are not used by us anymore, they are still on my stock list and I've been getting in trouble from senior management because of the state of them, they are in the warehouse and were stored in fine condition but now they have broken arms, legs and scuffs all over them, hair has been pulled out and they are in a mess. It seems she has been playing with them for ages. I don't want to embarrass her by telling management what's gone on but It looks bad on me.

What do I do? I haven't handled the situation well and I'm really quite angry at her using my stock as a sex aid.

Mannequins are always so lacking in the trouser department unfortunately. Why is that? I recommend dettol wipes next time you are window dressing.

GypsyMoth Wed 10-Jun-09 10:11:31

But they don't have any, er, 'bits' do they??!

Someone will say the T word here I'm sure!

MolestingMyManequins Wed 10-Jun-09 10:12:24

It was the 'women' she was using not the men. There was definite breast fondling going on.

4andnotout Wed 10-Jun-09 10:12:26

Thank god she doesn't work in the fruit and veg aisle, banana anyone? wink

MolestingMyManequins Wed 10-Jun-09 10:13:34

She wasn't having sex with it. She was rubbing against it's leg, kissing it's neck and a bit of fondling when I entered.

Merrylegs Wed 10-Jun-09 10:14:19

Get a hedgehog cam and leave her to it.

CharCharGabor Wed 10-Jun-09 10:17:06

Someone has been watching the movie Mannequin too much. Maybe she thinks they are alive?

AlistairSim Wed 10-Jun-09 10:27:57

Did the mannequin seem willing? Or is there an issue of harrassment going on, do you think?

MolestingMyManequins Wed 10-Jun-09 10:29:38

I don't know what to do. Clearly she's in need of help. I don't think I can give it her. It's too odd for me.

NetworkNanniesSurrey Wed 10-Jun-09 10:29:39

Tell senior management that you have a "solution" for them and sell them to this person. Everyone is a winner!

MolestingMyManequins Wed 10-Jun-09 10:30:37

I did think of perhaps giving her one to take home, then she wouldn't feel the need to come to work so early.

NetworkNanniesSurrey Wed 10-Jun-09 10:34:29

Oh, the only problem is you might then have timekeeping issues....

marmitebabe Wed 10-Jun-09 10:42:59

PMSL @ this thread - I need to go and calm down - as does she..... grin

HuwEdwards Wed 10-Jun-09 10:45:48

Tell her you've had enough, that you need her to be a model employee in future.

alicecrail Wed 10-Jun-09 10:50:24

Now, this is the type of thread i need to cheer me up on a wet miserable day, if only i had some biscuits grin

alicecrail Wed 10-Jun-09 10:51:05

harleyd Wed 10-Jun-09 10:56:21

MolestingMyManequins Wed 10-Jun-09 11:02:35

I don't want to upset her but I'm ever so angry and slightly creeped out.
