No, Challotte789, I don't think there's any way you can "make her see sense".

And to answer your healine, the 40 year old man who is in a relationship with a 17 year old girl/woman cannot be described as a peadophile.

i personally agree that generally a 40 year old man wanting to have a sexual relationship with a 17 year old girl is questionable but, unfortunately, there's not alot you can do about it. she has free choice and if thats her decision and she's not being manipulated or abused, then you have a decision- either deal with it and try to look past it in order to remain friends or end your friendship.

for all you know, this could be a serious, loving relationship. i can understand why you'd see it as otherwise though but not everyone sees things from the same point of view.

Ephebophile maybe, not paedophile.Look it up.

I'd have a fit if my own daughter of 17 was in a relationship with a man of my age but after all you have to let them make their own mistakes.
If you haven't spoken to her for 6 months, why should she listen to you now?

i don;t think he is a peadophile, but there is something wrong with a 40 year old involved with a 17 year old

he probably has controlling tendencies and won;t be veyr good for her

The man is not a paedophile.
i don't suppose her father can stop it going on .If she is 17 with 2 children
You are so out of line to describe someone who has had a mental illness as wacky.
It is none of your business anyway
I really hope you are a troll.

she/he keeps popping up with different names constructed along similar lines

They do have exams, that's the point, they are procrastinating and bored. And don't know the meaning of 'paedophile'.

I am personally utterly dismayed that trolls nowadays are so lazy they can't be bothered to spell paedophile correctly.

what is the world coming to?

evidence of trollery?

Okay then, a non-troll response.

Chalotte you ae being very presumptuous in saying that you need to make your friend 'see sense'. Withthe background you describe it is likely that she is looking for some stability and she may have found it. You aven't said anything about the man in question: have you met him? Is he a good man? Relationships with large age gaps have been known to work. If youre really her frend you should support her and be there for her, that way you can check for any signs that the relationship is unhealthy, but you must also be open to the idea that it could be a good relationship.

This is in no way paedophilia. Paedophilia is sexual attraction to children before they reach puberty. At 17 (and indeed many girls at 14 or 15) your friend is physically an adult, therefore benig attracted to her is perfectly reasonable.
