AIBU?

To think that Susan Boyle should be withdrawn from the BGT final?

She has apparently been taken to a safe house because she cannot cope with the stress.

She has been seen by a psychiatrist.

Now while I admit that I hate all the publicity and the plugging of her to boost her popularity, I think that she is clearly not equipped to be able to deal with this, and it will only get worse.

It is IMO irresponsible to allow her to continue in this competition. Clearly she does not have the mental capasity to cope with all that has been thrown at her, and someone should be taking responsibility and pulling her out of there.

I was just thinking about this. I can't see how it's going to end well. She's clearly very vulnerable isn't she.

well that applies to most people with a high profile in the music industry really

at least she is being looked after, am sure the disappointment of having the competition taken away from her would do more harm than good

she was quite irritating on sat night i thought.

it's just, we might as well 'take responsibility' for almost half of all rock/pop stars then?

YABU

SHe is a grown woman and can make her own decisions.

feelmuchbrighter she has learning difficulties though so is more vulnerable than the average pop star.

If she wins this she will become a laughing stock, not a star. Because her personality will override her ability to sing before too long, once the novelty of her voice wears off, which it is already starting to do given her pretty average performance on Sunday night.

No doubt she will be if she's deemed not stable enough, but as you said she's not been evaluated yet so how would they know?

"is the big thing about her that she is 'aesthetically challenged' and can get through a half decent song???" Just about sums it up

I didn't realise that she has learning difficulties.

TBH it must be bewildering for anybody to have that level of fame so quickly.

bit insulting to assume that learning difficulties = vulnerability innit?

I was thinking she wasnt amazing too, ok but she's not Paul Potts. He was bloody brilliant.

is the final tomorrow?

Report
JasperParrot · 29/05/2009 14:26

as she has a learning disability she is more vulnerable. I don't see why it's insulting to say that.

If you look at the way she acts when not singing it is quite cringeworthy, and not everyone will continue to be understanding of the fact she acts like that potentially because of her disability.

think there have been contestants who are far more vulnerable - quite young children for example?

DON'T KNOW WHY I AM ON HERE THOUGH BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN C A R E
