When doing a summer job I once lodged with a lovely lady who pretty much adopted me temporarily. She left a lifelong impression when I came home one day to find her - get this -
making jam, to make swiss roll, to make a trifle.
I don't think she was in a hurry, right enough.

Kimi Mon 02-Feb-09 19:58:21

FromGirders she sounds like my DPs ideal woman.
He loves to cook and is good at it, but yes he once made a pound cake just to make a trifle....there is no fast food in our house grin

quint Mon 02-Feb-09 20:00:34

Fromgirders - wow she's dedicated!

Kimi when can we expect him?!

EllieG Mon 02-Feb-09 20:02:54

Ah he sounds luverly, I want one of those. Mine is no good at cooking. But does wash up. Thanks for marshmellow recipe though - DSD was wanting to make some of them the other day and didn't have a clue

Kimi Mon 02-Feb-09 20:04:42

Form an orderly queue please ladies, did I mention he is 6 feet 4 tall nice looking, very smart, and a company director as well as a good cook.
Will I get him back if I loan him out?

Kimi Mon 02-Feb-09 20:05:41

He does sort of wash up

EllieG Mon 02-Feb-09 20:07:17

He must have some flaws.....sounds too good to be true. I think you are making him up and actually you co-habit with Rab C Nesbit.

Kimi Mon 02-Feb-09 20:09:15

LOL no really he is lovely.....

I forgot to mention he is a red head though grin

EllieG Mon 02-Feb-09 20:11:28

Mine is too, but I never get marshmellows. Am off to nag him now about his shortcomings.

quint Mon 02-Feb-09 20:11:31

Hey I ws first in the queue - red head doesn't bother me, DH has a lot of red hair and I like it!

Kimi Mon 02-Feb-09 20:11:54

He supports Oxfam, amnesty and the National trust, loves going to the theatre and art exhibits, cooks and eats organic and grows all our own herbs.
I am planning to clone him and sell him on Ebay.

WEESLEEKITLauriefairycake Mon 02-Feb-09 20:16:31 he also large enough in the trouser department? grin

Cos if so I have a single friend who will buy your clone...
