I would be upset too. But you know what - it's 99.9% likely to mean NOTHING. People use all kinds of over familiar language at work. Tell him - bet he will reassure you and give you a hug.

DoubleBluff Fri 19-Dec-08 20:01:41

aask him hy she put honey?
nothing in it or he wouldnt have brought the card home?

ninah Fri 19-Dec-08 20:02:20

Well if he's left them in a pile for you to see it means nothing to him! but I would be upset too. Yeah, tell him.

prettybutterfly Fri 19-Dec-08 20:14:52

God, she sounds about 17. Either that or a total airhead.

just ask him about it. It'll be nothing though, otherwise he'd hide it.

Doesn't sound sexy does it? Just stupid.

StealthPolarBear Fri 19-Dec-08 20:15:27

some people are just like that, she probably signed all her cards in that way

prettybutterfly Fri 19-Dec-08 20:18:40

She probably dots her Is with little hearts.

StealthPolarBear Fri 19-Dec-08 20:24:21

and shortens the honey to hun when she speaks
so yes yabu to be jealous - unless you have hun-envy

prettybutterfly Fri 19-Dec-08 20:26:46

hun-envy! <boak>

loobeylou Fri 19-Dec-08 20:28:17

this sort of thing pisses me off too! even though i know there is nothing in it! People send DH work emails at home and sign off with a X after their name - winds me up no end!!!

BUT OP, if it were anything to worry about, he would NOT have left it for you to find.

Yanda Fri 19-Dec-08 20:29:41

YABU, wouldn't bother me.

harleyd Fri 19-Dec-08 20:31:03

why would it bother you
some people are like that
happy xmas honey x

harleyd Fri 19-Dec-08 20:31:51

ewww lol
i think thats the first time ive ever said honey!

SantasNuttySTaff Fri 19-Dec-08 20:37:51

eek, i am that kind of person who has pet names for everyone love, hun, babe, chicken etc and do frequently refer to people in this manner in cards, e-mails everything without thinking and i do the whole x thing

(i possibly do this cos i'm crap at remembering names)

it probably means nothing tbh especially as your dh is quite happy to leave it on the side as well

ninah Fri 19-Dec-08 20:41:35

er leave it on the side not the best possible phraseology sns

honestly, don't worry! if it meant anything at all it wouldn't be there. Like someone else said airhead!

harleyd Fri 19-Dec-08 20:44:32

you know you're being ridiculous though, dont you
its just over-familiarity, nothing to worry about

SantasNuttySTaff Fri 19-Dec-08 20:52:32

ninah - oops i see what you mean blush

sorry op

Haribolicious Fri 19-Dec-08 20:53:55

I agree with what the others say but it would wind me up too, so totally understand where you're coming from.

prettybutterfly Fri 19-Dec-08 21:02:40

Do you have some suspicions about your dh already, OP?

tinselwrappedBodyBag Fri 19-Dec-08 21:11:07

cupcake, one of my friends actually found out her dh was having an affair with a co-worker, after reading honey in a birthday card.
think about what can of worms you may be opening before asking him if i was you.

DoubleBluff Fri 19-Dec-08 21:15:15

nice one tinsel!

tinselwrappedBodyBag Fri 19-Dec-08 22:11:01

cupcake i was just teasing you.
if he brought it home it means nothing

justneedsomesleeppleasesanta Fri 19-Dec-08 22:13:07

if he has a pile of them...and he's a guy...has he even read them?
