do you really not let anyone phone after your toddler is in bed? I find that the oddest bit of the post. you were obviously up, your dsd was up, her mother presumably just wanted to touch base.

9 o'clock phone curfew in this house.

I have a 2 yo and think you are being a bit ott.

If you told me when I could and couldn't phone my child I would be less than impressed.

MaureenMLove Fri 31-Oct-08 23:13:59

I think it's unreasonable to phone anyone after 9pm! I get really shirty if the phone rings after that time.

yanbu

we have problems with people phoning us at inconvieneint times for LO. my DH unplugs the phone. sometimes he forgets to tell me and goes off to work, leaving me thinking the phone lines are down again hmm

Is she trying to wind you up, d'you think?

And she's succeeding, Hedgewitch!!!!

Think serene thoughts and don't let her get to you.

wink

I think phoning anyone at 10.15pm is rude. Not just a house with children. YANBU

get a life. really!

controlfreeeeeakyshrieeeeeky Fri 31-Oct-08 23:16:29

..... and are there rules about how early you can phone? do the times change at weekends?....

asdmumandteacher Fri 31-Oct-08 23:17:06

take phone off hook. we do it every night after 8pm (hubby hates phone anyway)

EightiesChick Fri 31-Oct-08 23:17:59

Yes, why didn't she ring her daughter's phone?

ghosty Fri 31-Oct-08 23:18:13

What DesperateHousewife said.

After 9.30 is out of order, doesn't matter if they have kids or not.

Miyazaki Fri 31-Oct-08 23:18:19

my parents are like this.

if the phone rings after 8 they think somebody has died. and are cross if not.

unknownrebelbang Fri 31-Oct-08 23:18:36

TBH I don't expect anyone to ring me after 9ish and get irritated if they do, but I would expect to be able to speak to my child if I chose to ring them at their father's, providing they were awake.

I don't understand (d) though. Does your toddler not go to bed until 9 every night? Do you never receive calls when he's napping?

ScareyBitchFeast Fri 31-Oct-08 23:18:50

i think it is rude to phone before 8 am... and thishas happened to me several times.

BexieID Fri 31-Oct-08 23:19:55

BexieID Fri 31-Oct-08 23:20:31

I'd much rather people phoned after DS had gone to bed than while he's still up and causing havoc, but your DSD's Mum sounds like a trollop, so feel free to be cranky as hell!

Sazisi Fri 31-Oct-08 23:22:29

On a Weekend, it really wouldn't bother me at all

GivePeasAChance Fri 31-Oct-08 23:23:25

Really? Are you all being serious?

I would never put a curfew on what time someone could phone - 10.15 is fine?

Don't understand the problem - you don't expect the toddler to talk to them???
