YANBU!!!!! Well said!

Can't believe Gordon Brown has stupidly got involved, or that it's front page. And Brand didn't even say it so I don't know why it's about him.

YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWN to Ross and Brand!

This sort of thought did occur to me when comparing the amount of responses to Manuelgate, to those on the thread re the investigation into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes.

I agree - a total storm in the media teacup!

I think the whole thing would have to be seen to be believed to be honest. It just seems so stupid to give so much airtime to something so trivial...

Totally agree with you. I hate the way the government have jumped on the bandwagon too as it's diverting attention away from the recession.

OK, I'll say this again (I think I've said it to everyone else! ). I think the reason this Ross/Brand thing has taken off (apart from media coverage) is that it is sort of pissed offness at the amount of money Ross is paid (although I couldn't give a toss) but mostly because it gives everyone a chance to express how fecked off they are with the rudeness, crudeness, lack of respect and downright fuckwittery that we seem to be forced to put up with in this country and I think that is a big deal, not life threatening obviously but important. I think a lot of people feel the need to reverse the trend before it's too late and this is a good excuse to spout off about it. The presenters aren't really relevant tbh.

I think Jonathan Ross should redeem himself by giving a years annual salary to children in Africa.

Yabu Enid - it's light relief.

It isn't like we don't care about the other things in the world, but there's a limit to what you can say about it. It's not a 'right or wrong' debate, it's obviously painfully wrong, and the JR/RB thing is faff but it can be argued about. It brings up different issues we might actually have some say in.

Surely there is space for both topics?

Hear Hear

FFS I couldn't care less about the whole foolish fandango.

Surely the BBC, newspapers etc should be devoting coverage to the really important things...

Like Kerry Katona's addiction to alcohol.

Posh's hair.

Jen's love life.

Or the vile disaster that is unfolding in DRC.

Think poor Mr Sachs must be gutted he made such a fuss now as all these photos are surfacing of his not-very-wholesome granddaughter...

She looks like such a lovely girl here

Agree with flight. You could say that about anything. If that were the case we would never have anything else on the news but developing countries. The British media has a responsibility to print news that is relevant to the british people and seeing as we are forced to spend a hundred odd quid a year on the BBC it matters to some of us what is on it.

Slate the media storm if you like, but doesn't make what they did any less offensive. And it doesn't make those of us pissed of about the way out money is being spent "pathetic".
