I'm ill!!!! Horrible D+V bug, AND i have a job interview tomorrow, AND i have got to finish my presentation.

Sick last night, felt horrible this morning, lay in bed shivering, you know how it is. So, DP says "i'll have the day off work if you want me to" Now theres the sting "IF YOU WANT ME TO". I said i didn't know - meaning of course, yes please, i just want to lay in bed. So, i say well its up to you, so he lays a guilt trip on me "oh well, i don't mind, but i really want to get this job done " He works for himself. Putting the decision firmly in my court - making it quite clear he will get stressed out if i say "yes, you know what i really feel bad and could do with catching up on some sleep". Last night after i was sick he said "oh, i suppose i'll have to take the day off tomorrow" - i should say, we have a demanding three year old.

OK - so i wont die if i have to look after DD, ive installed her in front of the TV, but i have already been sick twice and both times i haven't been able to keep her out of the bathroom and she got worried and upset. Im pissed off because instead of saying to me, "I really need to get this job done, are you sure you will be OK" he goes on and on "i'll have the day off if you really want to".

So this has led to me snapping at him and him going off to work in a huff.

On top of that, i have to finish my presentation and i just want a cuddle thankyou very much. I don't need a fucking guilt trip i didn't catch grollies on purpose you know!!!

Well of course you should have said "normally I'd try and soldier on but as it's a job interview tomorrow, yes PLEASE!! will you stay at home."

Sometimes you really do have to state your needs, rather than expecting someone to read your mind.

You only had to ask.

You don't need the guilt trip? What about the one you're going to send him on if you don't get the job?

Good luck btw, hope you get it!

Yes i should have said what i meant and said stay home, but i think he should have just said "i'm going to stay home and look after DD today - off to bed with you" and put his shining armour back on. He knew i wanted him home but we have had issues with this in the past and knew i wouldn't ask him .

I do feel a tiny bit better, i might walk around to the swings with DD shortly. If i feel i can manage without having to run to the toilet!
