I have just got back from my local sealife centre with dd1 5 and dd2 3 . It was decorated everywhere with a halloween theme , ok i can cope with that , lets face it , where isnt decorated with a halloween theme at the moment ? ! But what has shocked me is the fact that all the staff had dressed up , not just witches hats etc , but really grafic and some rather nasty costumes. At one point a member of staff in a really scary costume crept up behind a couple of little girls , when they saw her they were terrified and the youngest burst into tears. My dd1 witnessed this and straight away asked to go home , we moved onto another area , but they were playing spooky sounds , screaming etc through the sound system ! By now she was spooked and just wanted to go home. She is a really sensitive little soul and this has really upset her. Im really annoyed because I wouldnt have taken her somewhere scary , but ... the sealife centre ??? Im really cross. Worried it will give her nightmares now.

Hallowe'en is supposed to be a bit of fun and they really should take into account that, although older children like to be scared, little ones need more careful handling and are often more sensitive.

I would definitely complain and ask for a voucher to re visit another time.
